Earlier this week, my two-year-old broke his leg, and I decided to go to ToysRUs during my lunch break to get him a “Get Well” gift to surprise him when I got home. I went straight to the Cars section because anyone who knows Nixon knows he loves Cars.

As I walked up, I noticed an envelope taped to the display that said, “Please use this cash to buy something in honor of our son Henry, who would have been 4 on March 2, 2017.” I looked around, feeling a mix of emotions, and I couldn’t hold back the tears. They were bittersweet—my heart hurt for Henry’s family, but I was so thankful that Nixon could honor this sweet boy.

I really wish I could personally thank Henry’s parents and tell them how much we appreciate their kind gesture. Thanks to them, Nixon was able to get this amazing Cars garage, and he hasn’t stopped playing with it since he opened it.
