In the above clip, Luis de Miguel Ortega, who used to be a nurse and became a lawyer to defend victims of rampant abuse by the medical system, describes the recent case of a young man in Spain, who was refusing to take the medication prescribed by a psychiatrist. The young man was refusing that medication because his psychiatric problem consisted only in the fact that he was keen on smoking joints, which had a bad effect on him, but he liked them well enough, so he said he preferred to continue smoking joints even if they were bad for him, rather than take the psychiatric medication which had a far worse effect on him. The psychiatrist became angry and sent a fax to a court (to a judge) explaining that his patient was not coming to see him, and requesting that the patient be brought to him by force.
The judge (instead of questioning this and telling the doctor Who do you think you are?") requested that social services and the police go seize the young man at his home and take him to the psychiatrists office. When they arrived at the young man's house, his mother opened the door. She told them her son had gone out to have breakfast. They told her: You are hiding him. She said what do you mean hiding? My son is not a criminal. He went out to have breakfast.
They told her if she didn't bring her son to them, they would go in and take him by force. She said, You don't have the right to come in without an order. They said: If you don't give us your son, we will take you to the hospital as a psychiatric patient.
So that's what they did: they brought her to a hospital by force and put her in a psychiatric unit, on the grounds that she was hiding her son, who had simply exercised his right to refuse a psychiatric medication that was harmful to him.
He continues: This kind of arrogance has been exhibited by doctors in Spain for decades. And the system allows them to communicate directly with a judge in order to authorize forced entry by police into a private residence and capture either the patient *or his mother*.
She spent nine days in the psychiatric unit for refusing to give them her son.
