People in #England descend on the police station to demand the release of people who were arrested.
A brown woman at a protest held up a satirical placard of Rishi #Sunak and Suella #Braverman as coconuts. The police arrested her for racism.
Others gathered in front of her court date to show support and protest her conviction. In solidarity with her, they also held up placards of Sunak as a coconut, and the police also arrested them.
The video you see is growing anger at the police for these arrests of what protestors see as police overstepping their bounds and criminalising political critique and satire. Experts came out to say the term ‘coconut’ was completely valid, so this will become a waste of time and taxpayer money in court because of dodgy policing.
