On 25th March 2024, the Government announced “plans” for enhanced water fluoridation in the North East of England. A consultation is launced alongside these plans, the results of which will be ignored, for your safety.
Nonetheless, if the consultation is not responded to, there are no sticks with which to beat the Government, and only limited justification for taking action.
To get you in the mood, this is an excerpt from the press release:
“Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral which protects teeth against decay. Natural levels of fluoride in water can be safely topped up to provide additional protection for teeth and reduce dental health inequalities, with decades of research showing it is effective and safe.”
