Lara Logan says the Rothschilds and 10 Downing Street [aka the British Government] funded Darwin's work. So Rolling Stone runs a smear piece pretending she said it was "funded by Jews".

She also did not say Darwin's work was a hoax, and in fact said "I'm not saying that none of that is true, I'm just saying Darwin was hired by someone to come up with a theory, based on evidence okay fine."

Ryan Bort obviously knew he was lying just to come up with his headline zinger. Sadly, few will read beyond that headline, and fewer will watch the original statement. The smear machine pumps out any attack it can put together, based on any wilful misinterpretation. They have people and ideas they must attack and that's it, no matter what. Heroes, villains, victims; facts be damned.

What do you get if you prove your skills as a propagandist attack dog? You get to write for all these places.

Also, this Bort hack cut two sentences up and stuck them together to make it sound less coherent, while putting it in quotation marks to pretend she said it that way. This is not an error you can make accidentally.
