This internet shut down just solidifies everything we all already know about this oppressive regime.
I know 3 kids other than myself in my school, who were accepted into Nodet, and 2 of them went to the Nodet schools in Tehran.
This just shows how fucked up the system is, where now we have these aspiring and talented minds seeking futures in another country. Literal assets turning away to become something in a place where they are valued.
The Islamic regime did nothing but to fear monger in our country, to poison our people and to waste resources and potential. Now what we need is strong democratic federal systems, we need to uplift our communities, and accept that the Pahlavi regime is a temporary solution to our bigger problem, that is the corrupt islamists in the country.
It’s upsetting that I can’t do anything for my country, living hours away is a privilege that turns ashen at times, but I wish for nothing stronger than how I wish for the people of Iran to succeed, for our people, and our youth to survive this obstacle with the least loss possible, although that may be unrealistic. I’m doing as much as I can from over here, as a student and as a member of the Persian-Canadian community. So no I’m not just sitting here and talking.
