This is the first review of the upcoming M4 MacBook Pro.

This review comes from an unexpected place - a video by Russian tech YouTuber Wylsacom.

In it, it is revealed that the base M4 variant will get some features Apple restricted to the M3 Pro and M3 Max variants in the current generation, like the Space Black color and an extra Thunderbolt port.

Geekbench scores were also shared, where it performed similarly to an M3 Max MacBook Pro.

It's expected that it will be announced in November, alongside a smaller version of the Mac Mini that's reportedly the size of an Apple TV.

Two rivals join forces with each other to fight a common enemy.

And that's not a movie plot - this is what #Intel and #AMD, the biggest x86 processor makers, are doing to fight back against the growing market share of Arm based processors.

Arm based processors offer increased power efficiency while reaching similar performance to high end Intel and AMD chips - just look at Apple's M series and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite. To make sure that the traditional x86 ecosystem continues evolving in the rapidly changing market, the two long-time rivals established the x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group.

Other members of the group include Linus Torvalds, the developer of the Linux kernel that is the base for Android and the most popular server OSes, as well as Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney and enterprise giants like Google, HP, Microsoft and Dell.

Instead of continuing the 8 Gen series Qualcomm decided to take the naming scheme from its Snapdragon X Elite series of laptop chips.

The CPU cores use a second generation Oryon architecture, bringing major performance improvements. The GPU has also been upgraded, and the new chip will support Gemini Nano with Multimodality.

Qualcomm also makes it easier for device manufacturers to provide up to 7 generations of Android updates.

Fortunately, it won't take long for Snapdragon 8 Elite powered devices to be on the market. The Xiaomi 15 series is the first to be announced. Other brands like Samsung, OnePlus and Asus are expected to follow suit.

"Mac" your calendar for #Apple's announcements next week.

Apple SVP Greg Joswiak shared this teaser. Curiously, it isn't tied to one specific event, which means that the upcoming Macs might not be announced at an event, as is the tradition for Apple's reveals.

As for the products themselves, we already know what one of them is - the M4 powered MacBook Pro, first revealed earlier this month by tech reviewer Wylsacom. Others include an M4 Mac mini - reportedly the size of an Apple TV and available in M4 and M4 Pro variants - as well as an updated iMac and USB-C accessories.

Meet #Apple's first new Mac: the iMac with M4.

After Greg Joswiak told everyone to "Mac" their calendars for a week of announcements, Apple announced their first new computer today: iMac with M4.

With M4's new CPU core, it's up to 1.7x faster than iMac with M1. The new GPU is up to 2.1x faster in tasks like video editing, and the Neural Engine is 3x faster. This is joined by 16GB of unified memory, with a 32GB variant available.

The new iMac is built for Apple Intelligence, the first features of which launch today in iOS 18.1. It's also joined by new accessories, now with USB-C.
