This is Orion, Meta's latest prototype AR glasses, which were shown during Meta Connect 2024.
Meta invited some people to test it out, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and some VR content creators.
This is Orion, #Meta's latest prototype AR glasses.
The company has been building holographic AR glasses for 10 years, and showed Orion, its latest prototype, at Meta Connect 2024.
Orion has wide displays that have a high picture quality, despite having a portable form factor and only weighing 100 grams. This was achieved by using a new display architecture and custom silicon. Meta also showed some apps built for this new platform.
While this is a prototype that will only be used by Meta and select partners, the company claims that the next iteration will already be ready for consumers.

The first review of the unannounced M4 MacBook Pro comes from an unexpected place - a video by Russian tech YouTuber Wylsacom.
This is the first review of the upcoming M4 MacBook Pro.
This review comes from an unexpected place - a video by Russian tech YouTuber Wylsacom.
In it, it is revealed that the base M4 variant will get some features Apple restricted to the M3 Pro and M3 Max variants in the current generation, like the Space Black color and an extra Thunderbolt port.
Geekbench scores were also shared, where it performed similarly to an M3 Max MacBook Pro.
It's expected that it will be announced in November, alongside a smaller version of the Mac Mini that's reportedly the size of an Apple TV.

Two rivals join forces with each other to fight a common enemy.
And that's not a movie plot - this is what #Intel and #AMD, the biggest x86 processor makers, are doing to fight back against the growing market share of Arm based processors.
Arm based processors offer increased power efficiency while reaching similar performance to high end Intel and AMD chips - just look at Apple's M series and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite. To make sure that the traditional x86 ecosystem continues evolving in the rapidly changing market, the two long-time rivals established the x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group.
Other members of the group include Linus Torvalds, the developer of the Linux kernel that is the base for Android and the most popular server OSes, as well as Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney and enterprise giants like Google, HP, Microsoft and Dell.
