#Google releases Gemma, a family of open #AI language models.
Many companies have released open language models in recent years. Language models power popular AI apps like ChatGPT, and making open models helps AI research and development, since they can be used freely by everyone. Meta has released 2 versions of Llama, while Stability AI, the company behind Stable Diffusion, has developed StableLM. Now, Google has released one too.
Gemma models are developed based on some of the same research and technology as Gemini, which allows them to surpass existing open models like Meta's Llama 2, and are light enough to run on a developer laptop. There are 2 base variants - 2B and 7B - as well as 2 variants optimized for following instructions.
To ensure that Gemma models aren't used for harmful purposes, Google has also released the Responsible Generative AI Toolkit, which helps developers assess risks, adapt the models to their specific uses and analyze how the models perform. Additionally, Google itself has trained the models not to be harmful.
Gemma models can be downloaded on Kaggle.

Photos of the Pixel 9 (code name
tokay), 9 Pro (caiman) and "9 Pro XL" (comodo, name is unconfirmed) have been leaked by Russian tech news outlet Rozetked.Photos and specs of the currently unannounced #pixel 9 lineup were leaked by Russian tech news outlet Rozetked.
The design of the #galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 has been leaked by Samsung itself.
It's not often that Samsung leaks the design of its own devices - though this has happened before. This time, the leak comes from Samsung Kazakhstan.
The Z Fold6 has a square, flat design reminiscent of the S24 Ultra, and is shown in a similar titanium color. Meanwhile, this is the first time images of the Z Flip6 have been leaked. The smaller phone, shown in blue, has flat sides, while the camera lenses get accents that match the phone's color. Both have a wallpaper with a geometric design that looks like the number 6. And once again, the "Galaxy AI is here" tagline (in Kazakh) can be seen.
Other leaks indicate that Samsung might launch a "Slim" variant of the Galaxy Z Fold6 with a bigger display and no S Pen support, as well as a "Slim" variant of the Galaxy Z Flip6. Samsung will also likely reveal a "Galaxy Watch FE", rumored to be a renamed version of the Galaxy Watch4.

A render of the #galaxy Buds3 Pro has been leaked.
Evan Blass, known as evleaks, has shared this render, which is likely an official ad, on his Leakmail newsletter.
Despite having a strong mosaic effect, it still reveals a few details about the design. The biggest change is the addition of a stem, which is likely to improve microphone quality. A "Blade Lights" feature is also rumored to exist, however the lights can't be seen in this render. Unlike the Buds2 Pro, the Buds3 Pro seem to have a glossy finish.
Samsung will likely advertise the new earbuds as supporting Galaxy AI features, like the rest of its 2024 devices.

These are the new AI features of the upcoming #Pixel 9 series.
Android Authority has shared screenshots of what looks like a setup wizard page of the Pixel 9, showing a list of Google AI features. The first 2 - Gemini and Circle to Search - are existing features that Google is highlighting again.
While Android Authority doesn't have much information about it, Add Me sounds like an improved version of Best Take, a feature launched on the Pixel 8 series which takes multiple versions of a photo and edits everyone's best expression. From the description it seems like Add Me will use Google's image generating AI models to add people to a group photo.
Pixel Screenshots is a new app that will use AI to summarize screenshots and answer questions about them, similar to Microsoft's controversial Recall feature. But unlike Recall, Google's version will only work on screenshots taken manually.
The final AI feature is Studio, which, from the description, appears to be an app that generates images, similar to Apple's Generative Playground app. Android Authority believes that this app will also be integrated in Google Photos and Markup, the screenshot editing tool on Pixel phones, according to code found in beta versions of Android 15.

The K-pop band Tomorrow x Together will make an appearance at #Galaxy Unpacked.
Samsung has announced on its X (formerly Twitter) page that the band will make an appearance with a "surprise film" at its upcoming Unpacked event, where the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 will be revealed, with a short teaser.
This won't be the first time that Samsung is using the popularity of K-pop to advertise its products, as the Korean tech giant has a long-standing partnership with BTS and partnered with BLACKPINK to promote the Galaxy A series in 2019. A more recent collaboration that comes to mind is Samsung collaborating with YouTuber MrBeast to advertise the Galaxy S24 series' improved camera and AI features at Unpacked earlier this year.
Galaxy Unpacked takes place on July 10th at 3 pm CEST, however almost all of the specs of the Z Fold6 and Flip6 have leaked. Stay tuned, as we will share them on the channel later.

The Galaxy Z Flip6 has flat edges. The sides and hinge now match the color of the phone, as do new accents on the camera lenses.
Samsung also mentions that “the display almost seems to float on the frame”. This could mean that the display hinge has been redesigned, potentially to eliminate the creasing issue seen on Samsung’s foldable phones, but it also could be a translation error.
