The #Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 are already available in Russia.

Despite the phones being officially available August 11, Russian news agency TASS noticed that the upcoming phones are already available in major Russian stores.

At MTS, a major Russian carrier, the Z Flip5 is available in 512GB for 119900 rubles (around $1300), while the Z Fold5 is available in all versions except for 256GB, starting at 199900 RUB (around $2170). However, both phones are on sale and the carrier is bundling free Galaxy Buds with the former and a Galaxy Watch5 Pro with the latter. The Galaxy Watch6 series and Galaxy Tab S9 series are available for preorder, as are the 256GB variants of the foldable phones.

Unlike other tech companies Samsung hasn't fully left Russia, only stopping sales there, with stores having to rely on gray/parallel imports. Samsung also doesn't have official resellers in the country anymore, which is likely why stores are already selling the upcoming phones.

#Nothing launches its first sub-brand.

CMF by Nothing is a more affordable brand focusing on delivering "timeless designs" at affordable prices with "quality that's hard to find" at this price point. "Nothing" will remain as the company's premium brand with innovative design and the latest technology. The sub-brand's products will "work really well" with "the same attention to user experience" as Nothing.

The name comes from the CMF (color, material, finish) process in product design, which focuses on the look and feel of a product.

The first CMF by Nothing products are a smartwatch and earbuds, to be launched later this year.

#Samsung leaks One UI 6 based on Android 14.

Samsung Germany announced, then deleted, a post announcing the start of the One UI 6 beta program. Some features of the upcoming OS were detailed there.

The most notable new feature is a new card-based Quick Settings panel that is very similar to the iOS Control Center and other Android-based OSes like MIUI and HarmonyOS. Other features include the ability to change the wallpaper based on the mode and time of day. The font also looks different, but that might be an issue with the render.

One UI 6's beta program will run in the US, Germany and Korea, and is expected to start in the fall.
#PayPal launches its own #cryptocurrency.

The fintech company announced PayPal USD on Monday. PayPal USD ($PYUSD) is a stablecoin, which is a cryptocurrency whose price is tied to a real asset, in this case the US dollar. It works on the Ethereum blockchain and will be available to external wallets and Web3 applications. The cryptocurrency is issued by Paxos Trust Company.

PYUSD can be transferred between PayPal and external wallets, bought and sold using any cryptocurrency supported by PayPal, used for person-to-person payments and at checkout. The company says that it's designed to reduce friction for payments in virtual environments and facilitate fast transfers to support friends and family. Transparency is also a major selling point, with Paxos publishing monthly reports and a public third-party attestation of the assets backing PayPal USD.

PayPal USD is rolling out in the US.

One UI 6's beta program will run in the US, Germany and Korea.
#telegram turns 10.

On August 14, 2013, Telegram was launched on iOS, becoming one of the most popular messaging apps in the years that followed.

As a birthday present, Telegram launched Stories for everyone - not just for Telegram Premium subscribers. According to founder Pavel Durov, this makes the messaging app more like a social network. Stories, if you're unaware, launched last month for Premium users only and are built with Telegram's focus on privacy.

Location tags are also now available. Now, only Premium users can download others' stories and set an expiration date for theirs. They also now have a stealth mode, which hides them from the viewer list for 25 minutes.

To use Stories, update Telegram to version 10.0. Note that not everyone has this feature yet.

Mark Zuckerberg will be fighting #Elon Musk. And we aren't talking about Meta competing with Twitter - the two billionaires will be fighting each other in an MMA fight. It all started from Elon Musk's response to news about "Project 92", the rumored Twitter…
The Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk fight might be tonight.

#Elon Musk posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he will drive to Zuckerberg's house tonight as part of a test drive of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature. The test drive will be live streamed on the platform too. If Zuckerberg answers, the fight is on.

Meanwhile, in a post on Threads, Mark said that Elon isn't serious about the fight and that he will focus on competing with people that take MMA seriously instead. He also shared a photo of a fight in his backyard octagon.

If you're unaware, the two billionaires have been planning to fight since June. The fight started because of Threads, then known by its codename Project 92.
The #iPhone 15 is already being assembled - in India.

Bloomberg reports that Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn has started manufacturing the iPhone 15 series at its factory in Sriperumbudur, India. The Indian plant is getting ready to deliver the new phones weeks after phones made in China start shipping.

Apple is looking to manufacture in countries other than China. After a meeting with India prime minister Narendra Modi, Tim Cook said that India represents a "huge opportunity". And, in April, Bloomberg reported that nearly 7% of iPhones are produced in India.

However, analyst Jeff Pu believes that Apple is already cutting the production of the iPhone 15 series. He mentioned that Apple is expected to build 77 million iPhone 15s, but previously estimated 83 million iPhones to be built. According to Pu, this could be because of 2 reasons - supply issues affecting parts like the camera sensors, displays and the titanium frame to be used on the Pro model, as well as reduced demand due to the phones reportedly being more expensive than their predecessors.

The iPhone 15 is rumored to be revealed at September 12 or 13.

Some time after discontinuing Google Glass, in 2020, Google acquired a company called North, which built the Focals AR glasses (pictured).

Then, Google started working on smart glasses with the codename Iris, which were supposed to be a sleeker version of the Focals with integration with Google services such as Maps and Lens.

Originally, Iris was supposed to look like "everyday glasses". Then, the team switched to sunglasses, and back to the original concept.
#google's plans for AR glasses and VR headsets were revealed by 9to5Google.
Here's when the #iPhone 15 series will launch.

A lot of details are known about the new phones, like the cameras, colors, the titanium frame on Pro models and that the phones will use USB-C.

Now, insider Majin Bu has posted an image on X (aka Twitter) that reveals the date of Apple's event: September 12. It reportedly comes from a phone carrier.

However, he stated that he can't be 100% sure about this information.
The #iPhone 15 series will be revealed on September 12.

The date of the event was leaked, but now we have an official confirmation - and an invite.

As usual, the invite has a hint - this year, it hints at the iPhone 15 Pro's colors, which are rumored to be black, grey, white and a dark blue which is darker than the iPhone 12 Pro. These colors show off the phones' titanium frame.

Other headline features of the iPhone 15 Pro series include USB-C replacing Lightning and a periscope camera.
