Add satellite connectivity to any Android phone or iPhone: the Motorola defy satellite link
#Apple has launched the iPhone 14 with Emergency SOS via Satellite, and Android phones are catching up. However, in the past few weeks there weren't any Android phones with satellite connectivity. And what if you want to add it to your existing phone?
This is where the Motorola defy satellite link comes in. Created by Bullitt Group in partnership with #Motorola, the $99 device connects via Bluetooth to any Android or iOS device and lets users access Bullitt's Satellite Messaging service. It lets users communicate with each other even without cellular reception and offers SOS assistance.
The defy satellite link will be available in April 2023, and satellite communication services start at $4.99 per month. Motorola and Bullitt have also announced the defy 2 smartphone, supporting the same feature and offering IP68 water and dust resistance. More details about it will be revealed at #MWC2023.

#Nokia's new phone is more repairable than previous ones.
Announced at #MWC2023, the Nokia G22 is designed to make common smartphone repairs (replacing the battery, screen and charging port) simpler. Replacing the battery takes around 5 minutes, while replacing the screen takes around 20. A similar battery replacement would take 90 minutes on other Nokia Android phones.
HMD, the company making Nokia phones, has also partnered with iFixit to sell replacement parts for the G22. The repair company already sells parts for #Google Pixel and #Samsung phones, while Apple has its own Self Service Repair program.
The G22 will be available in the UK on March 8, starting at £149.99. Part prices range from £18.99 for a charging port to £44.99 for a screen.

The new #Motorola rizr: a classic revamped with futuristic technology.
You are probably aware of the new Motorola razr, which was an updated version of the classic flip phone with a foldable screen. Now, at #MWC2023, Motorola is doing the same with the Motorola rizr slider phone.
The new rizr, however, features a rollable display. The 5-inch 15:9 display extends to a 22:9 6.5-inch size with a double-tap of the power button. With the phone rolled up and face down, the extended part on the back works as an always-on display.
Not much is known about the device, including whether the company is planning to release it to market.

Meet #Apple Music Classical - Apple Music for classical pieces.
After Apple's acquisition of Primephonic, a classical music streaming service, in 2021 and numerous references in both iOS and the Apple Music app on Android, the new streaming service is available for pre-order as a separate app.
It is essentially the same as Apple Music but for classical music only, featuring recordings with up to 24-bit lossless sound and spatial audio. All composers' portraits were commissioned by Apple for the app, and it also features a specialized search function that can search by composer, work or conductor.
Despite being a separate app it doesn't have a separate subscription, instead being available to all Apple Music subscribers. The app will be released on March 28th.

Edit: added release date.

The first real images of #apple's AR glasses - or rather components of them - have leaked.
An anonymous Twitter user who has a good track record in sharing Apple leaks has posted an image of curved ribbon cables contouring the user's eyes, likely hinting at what the shape of the AR glasses will be.
They have also posted an image of what looks like an array of 3 sensors or cameras.

Our first look at the Google #Pixel 8 Pro.
OnLeaks and Smartprix have shared the first renders of the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro.
The phone measures 162.6×76.5×8.7mm and will have an approximately 6.7-inch display. Unlike the Pixel 6 and 7 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro's screen is flat.
On the back of the new phone, we see the signature Pixel camera bump, featuring 3 cameras, a flash and a new sensor below it. We currently don't know what kind of sensor it is, but Max Weinbach of XDA speculates that it's a LiDAR.
Not much is currently known about the new phones. They are expected to be powered by Tensor G3, featuring 3nm technology, and may have updated HDR.

Update: an earlier post stated that the Pixel 8 Pro's display is 6.5 inches. This turned out to be incorrect and has been fixed.
