Pavel Durov talked about the Toncoin #crypto currency on his channel, congratulating the team for their recent TON DNS domain name auction and imagining TON-powered features that could be added to #telegram, like auctioning rare and 4-letter usernames, as well as a marketplace for things like channels and stickers powered by Toncoin.

At the end he mentioned that #web3 features might be added to Telegram "in the coming weeks". This wouldn't be a change welcomed by many users of the messaging app, as the post currently has 29.3 thousand dislikes.

Update 2: An earlier version mentioned that the marketplace was a feature that could have been added if Telegram launched the original version of TON, which isn't what Durov actually said.

#apple have announced an event for September 7th. We can expect the iPhone 14 series, the next-generation Apple Watch lineup including a Pro version, and possibly the updated AirPods Pro to be revealed.

#telegram added a feature where any username can now be a subdomain of t.me (e.g. thetechdroid.t.me), instead of coming after (e.g. t.me/thetechdroid).

#google is already testing apps in Google Play with 64-bit only versions of Android, as evidenced by the Play Console (redfin is the codename of the Pixel 5). These versions have better performance at the cost of not supporting older 32-bit apps. It is rumored that the #pixel Tablet will use a 64-bit only build.

After Samsung, #LG is also adding #NFT support to their TVs through the LG Art Lab. Users will be able to buy and view NFTs, and new ones will be released in drops. The first drop, from artist Barry X Ball, will be released on September 22.

#google have announced an event called #MadeByGoogle on October 6th at 10 a.m. ET. It's expected that the Pixel 7, 7 Pro and Watch will be official there, and we might get a preview of the Pixel Tablet.

#meta (formerly #facebook) announced a Meta Connect event on October 11th at 1 p.m. ET. They will reveal their latest advancements in the #metaverse and the Project Cambria VR headset.
