Dear students,

Many of you have been asking " How to Start Preparing for INBDE Exam" commencing 2020. This is an elaborate post on how you can start preparing for the exam. This guide will help you have a blueprint for self-study as well as course guidelines that are available now at MasterINBDE. com. Before we proceed, understand few facts about this exam.

Facts about this exam

1. This exam is delegated to take over 2 NBDE Exams - ie NBDE 1 and NBDE 2. It is certain that examiners want to ease out the process of taking 2 separate examinations. Initially, this exam will be called INBDE till NBDE 1 and 2 are discontinued. After that INBDE will be called as NBDE alone. This will be done after Aug 2022 as both NBDE 1 and 2 will disintegrate.

2. There are 2 main sections in this.

2a) Clinical content areas ( Clinical Sciences and application)
2b) Knowledge foundation areas ( Basic Sciences)

3. The two sections above are DOMAINS of Dentistry which form the basis of the INBDE Exam. Everything will be relevant to these sections in the exam.

How to prepare? ( Self Study )

1. There are in all 2 Competencies that you need to master that are mentioned above.

2. DD is a very good tool to start with. Begin with DD of Part 2. Many of you wonder about Mosby or Dentin as well. My recommendation is to start with DD and if you want to read " Selective topics " from these sources, feel free to do so. But DD should still be your number one source of preparation.

3. Many of you immensely relied on RQs for the counterparts of INBDE before. However, as the first batch of preparing for this exam, this liberty of going through frequently tested questions has been taken away. Therefore, a testing phase is critical throughout the preparation. You may take these tests for Free at MasterINBDE. com

I have released subject wise exams on the portal to assist you in evaluating your preparation. There are GRAND Tests included in the FREE version. If you like to take more of these. Feel free to do so, by opting for Master Test Series of INBDE alone.

4. Once you have mastered Clinical Sciences, ( DD and Tests ), follow the same pattern for Basic Sciences. However, replace DD with Dentin this time.

This has to be followed by Test Series again. This has been made available for FREE for your convenience.

5. During your preparations and while taking test series, make sure you track your wrong "Concepts". Notice the word concepts instead of " Questions". A candidate always attempts a concept incorrectly and not the question. Have a notebook handy with you where you keep a track of these CONCEPTS. Follow the guideline below :

Concept Galore
Krebs Cycle **** ( 4 asterisks suggest you got this concept 4 times incorrect during tests)
Attachment Loss ( 2 times)
Biological Width
( 6 times)

Track Progress in this way

Krebs Cycle **** ( Your revised this 3 times, 4 times incorrect)
Attachment Loss ( 4 times revised, 2 times incorrect)
Biological Width
( Not revised, 6 times incorrect)

YOU GOT THIS

6. Keep the revisions ON till the exam.

7. Stay active in the group!

How to prepare? ( Course Details at MasterINBDE.com)

This course is for 311$ ( Time Span : 5 months )

nst their batchmates, Ranking helps a student evaluate their preparations relative to others. Ranks are visible ONLY to the candidate himself and no one else.

INBDE or NBDE 1 - What to go for ?

(1/7)

Hello guys,

I see many aspirants confused on whether to take NBDE 1 or opt for the Integrated National Boards launching this year in August. There are many factors that will help you in leaning towards one over the other. I will cover this one by one.

1. Have you attempted NBDE 1 before?
This question plays a pivotal role in your decision-making process. Many students have taken NBDE 1 unsuccessfully before and failure has left them disconsolate yet hopeful of success in the Integrated Exam. Your chances of clearing NBDE 1 are much higher than appearing in “To- be launched INBDE”. Taking INBDE -is like walking the path of unknown. Not knowing what comes next or what to read can feel overwhelming and terrifying as almost all students are still unclear on what to read and consider a good reliable source for preparations of INBDE. Students at MasterINBDE.com obviously are well acquainted with this as being a part of the program they get updated information and material. I am talking about 99% of the candidates who are still trying to decide which exam works well for you. The takeaway message is, study sources are distinct and clear for NBDE than INBDE. So, if you have appeared in the exam before, go for it and give it another shot in 2- 3 months, because there is no prospect left afterward. We do prepare students in 2 – 3 months (depending upon your current level) on The Study Boards. Feel free to get in touch for free counseling at support@thestudyboards.com and I will be happy to assist you in your decision-making process. Do mention your contact number in the email and briefly state your concerns so that I have an idea before calling you.

...to be continued

Continuation (2/7)

2. Fear of Failure 2/7
Many students tell me over the phone that they are fearful of failing again in NBDE 1. This fear is not just draining your energy for the next few months but also instilling vibes of failure in your mind and heart. It’ll prevent you beginning things you truly want to start, just because you’ve already labeled yourself as a failure. If you truly believe in something and have a driving purpose behind it, don’t let this fear stop you. It’s deceitful for you, not to think about greater possibilities. Even if - what you started did “fail” ( your first attempt) , you walked away with more clarity on what to change in the way you prepared for the exam. Lack of being organized and disciplined in studies is the most common cause of failure. And inculcating discipline is NOT that hard. All you need is commitment. So if you are fearful of preparing for INBDE or NBDE 1, shun the fear and proceed ahead. Success awaits you.

I have been seeing many students asking questions about " how to start preparations ?"

You will need Dental Decks to start with. The time you need to spend on this varies as per your graduation year. ( You can find the pdfs in the Group's file section, members of the group have added them )

If you happen to be a recent graduate, do not vest more than 2 months in reading through entire Dental Decks.

If you graduated way back, and feel like you have lost a touch on Basics, vest 4 months in preparing from DD, and build up your basics.

Few things that you need to practice daily throughout the preparation

1. Devote a minimum of 4 hours for your studies during the first phase of your preparation.

2. Practice daily by attempting questions. It has been made a lot more easier now, as members of the group actively share questions on the group.

3. Do not worry if a member has posted a question on Oral Surgery and you have not read that subject yet. Try to answer that with a rationale, if you are not able to do that, read through the comments/discussions to know what other members are thinking. It will help you in knowing what to emphasize upon when you reach the DD of that subject.

4. To help every student prepare with ease and crack this exam, I have been releasing Individual Subject tests on The Study Boards. You can inbox the page directly if you wish to take a particular test the following week and if majority of students have requested for that test, we will release it on Common Boards. ( This is FREE and you need not pay anyone ).

5. Every alternate week, Master Diagnosis Series is released for FREE so that students who are aiming for exam feel confident on Day 2 of the exam. Many of the students, are fearful about Day 2 as we do not have enough sources to prepare from unlike Day 1 wherein multiple files are available. So feel free to participate in this and practice. Take a close look at the posts we release so that you do not miss out on any. You can follow any post that we release, by either commenting on it or by Liking the post, You will get notification of all our comments after that.

6. Feel free to tag members who are active. Everyone here is trying to go hand in hand and help. So if you do not understand anything, feel free to tag and request for an explanation. Always try to be polite while asking for the same, as your friends will appreciate and help you accordingly. I have seen many students reply in comments by " SOURCE?????" , EXPLAIN ??? . This looks rude, and you may not get desired answer back.

7. Do not waste money opting for coaching or guidance. There is whole lot of individuals targeting students for making money. Have confidence in yourself. You aced the Part 1, and Part 2 is no Rocket science.

You need any help, any guidance, the door is always open !!! Go for it ! Rise and Shine !
