This video from the early 20th century shows the jovial, silly behaviour of our predecessors who made the most of tough times. This wonderful, rare glimpse into the human nature of those who came before us is as touching as it is painful. Their like is seen no more.

Barking Road is a world of pub stores and pub losses all to itself. This hostelry is the first one would have come across on the high street. A pub with a troublesome reputation and a world class boxing legacy, now it's building serves as a Turkish restaurant. 🍻
