Simo Häyhä "White Death" was a Finnish sniper who allegedly killed over 500 enemy soldiers using M/28-30 (iron sights) throughout the Winter War 1939–1940. He suffered a severe injury to his face, survived, and went on to die at the old age of 96 in 2002.

This is hands down my favourite film of all time and has been for many years.
It's soundtrack also means an awful lot to me as it was carried into other places in my life.
The first track you hear I have enjoyed across my travels and was sung by many of us who'd enjoyed it together.
Years ago while backpacking, the intro song to this film was on the mouths of all present as we marched through the Scottish mountains.
It's dark, gripping, funny but most of all it's incredibly clever.

High Western art is associated with patriarchal achievement, which is a vast and enriching topic likely to induce a now forbidden sense of pride.
Pride butts against the trained Pavlovian guilt reflex of obsessive virtue signaling, which gnaws at the tree of knowledge schizophrenically.
When up becomes down, even borne out of humility or kindness to the lower, vulgarity becomes high philosophy and beauty becomes pastiche.
It is obscene for being.
A lie, but that is also its weakness.

The only possible key to surviving what is coming is 'full awareness', enjoyed by few, but at least among those here. It does not guarantee survival, and in the short term is more dangerous.
