Going to switch gears a bit on the next Professor's Record conversation.

The topic is the "ekklesia."

I'll admit I didn't even know what the word meant a year ago.

But every other Sunday I encourage you all to get to a Bible believing church and worship God Almighty.

This has proven difficult in a culture with 40,000 different denominations, many of which have pastors submitting to a 501c3 approved watered down Gospel.

Many of you have expressed not having your spiritual needs met, or simply can't find a church.

Hence, the subject of "ekklesia."

This unemployed professor discusses the topic with an all around good dude named Andrew McGarry.

On a completely different note...

I displaced my L5-S1 vertebrae 14 years ago.

Since then, I've struggled with varying degrees of numbness and pain. Especially, numbness in a few of my right toes and the top of my foot.

Getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom half asleep, has occasionally presented comedic stumbles. I'm glad no one is up to watch.

It's an ever present reminder, and a slight annoyance that's hard to describe.

I am usually able to manage the pain with a very strict diet that lowers inflammatory markers. But my problem spot likes to gravitate out of place.

Last night I helped a family member with back issues (in much worse shape) get around his house, and in the process shifted my vertebrae out of place.

I'm walking like the old guy in "Up."

So I'm spending the afternoon with some professionals that will, Lord willing, straighten me out.

Could use some prayer. Didn't sleep too well, and I'm a little irritable.

Not a great combination for someone who regularly engages the public.

I'm in.

Prayer warriors, please lift up my cowboy brother in Christ, Couy Griffin.

He was a J6 peaceful protester at the Capitol. His trial is just around the corner. He never entered the capitol building, and was there to pray over those in attendance.

Those actions led to him being arrested, placed in solitary confinement, and imprisoned for several weeks.

His truck recently needed repairs and in true style, Couy will be riding his horse to D.C.

Our corrupt NM attorney general, Hector Balderas, is piling on and issued a press release that his office will now come after Couy with a misdemeanor prosection over an alleged and obscure campaign finance reporting issue. The injustice is unbearable.

When it rains, it pours.

Pray that God will pour out His blessings, protection, and provision during this stormy week.

Couy is a God-fearing patriot.

Many J6 prisoners awaiting trial are looking to the fate of Couy.

The judiciary, the prosecutors, and the jury pool are all located in the D.C. swamp.

Pray, pray, pray.

My heart goes out to all the J6 prisoners, but with Couy it's a little different for me.

Couy is my neighbor to the east, a strong community leader and cowboy pastor, and someone that I am proud to call friend. He is a fellow New Mexican.

There are so many shrinking cowards in this world.

Couy has continued to keep his head high.

We need more of that frontier cowboy spirit.

Turning in early tonight.

Saw the back doctor and was put through my paces for 2 hours this afternoon. Found some relief but will need some follow up care.

Never know who will recognize me.

The doctor said he'd been reading about me in the papers. I imagine the printed word doesn't shine a particularly nice light on yours truly.

What he said next caught me off guard.

He mentioned that a year ago he got the jab. That he used to never get sick, but now can't seem to shake being sick all the time. That I took a stand for my students, and he wishes he could have made a different choice.

My stand on the jab is unrelated to the election propaganda being put out there. The doctor seemed to see through it and I'm thankful for that.

Small mercies each day.

I am so thankful to God for your prayers.

Tomorrow, another day of canvassing awaits.

It seems like I'm asking you all to pray on something new every 20 minutes. Don't think God's well will ever run dry, so I'll keep asking.
