Two of the gibbons born in Angkor were born to mothers who themselves were born here. This is Ping-peeung (Spider), our first wild-born Angkor gibbon. She alertly guards her tiny first born, who we named K’mum - which means Honey Bee in Khmer language. K’mum is the grandchild of Baray and Saranik, the first gibbon pair we released over a decade ago.

Southeast Asian forest is home to incredible species of hornbills. Their diet of fruits helps disperse seeds and plays a vital role in natural reforestation.
Over the years, Wildlife Alliance has reintroduced three species of hornbills to Angkor, those being Oriental Pied, Wreathed and Great Hornbills.
The woosh of their wings can be heard above the trees, and sometimes they can be seen flying overhead, occasionally also travelling the short distance to Siem Reap City.
These beautiful creatures live freely in the rainforests they call homes.
