Angkor ticket sales down one-third in Q1 as conflicts hit tourism
Global economic fragility, rising fuel prices, armed conflict in the Middle East and tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border have all been cited as contributing to a sharp decline in ticket sales to the Angkor Archaeological Park in the first quarter of 2026. The number of visitors reached just over 270,000 — down nearly one-third compared to the same period in 2025.
