Breaking: Tourists Panic as Teenagers Fight and Shoot at each other at a Crowded Restaurant in Pattaya; Police Search for Injured Person and Gunman
Pattaya, Chonburi Province – On October 30th, 2024, at 4:06 AM, R.T.O. Wuttikorn Plodprong, deputy chief of the Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a shooting incident in front of the Moo Krata Baek Kap Din Sam restaurant on Petchtrakul Road in Pattaya City, Nongprue Subdistrict. The report was promptly relayed to Pol. Col. Nawin Thirawit, chief of the Pattaya City Police Station, who led a team of patrol and investigation officers to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found tourists, bus operators, and local residents in a state of panic. The scene showed signs of a fight, including a damaged motorcycle, scattered belongings, and blood on the ground. Both parties involved had fled in separate directions before the police arrived.
Eyewitness Mr. Amnuay, 65, reported seeing a gunman approach alone and shoot at the injured group, believed to be foreigners. The injured individual fell to the ground before being quickly taken away by friends in a black Alphard van, whose license plate number remains unknown. The gunman had already fled the scene.
Initial investigations suggest the altercation may have stemmed from a dispute after leaving an entertainment venue. Some witnesses indicated that the injured person and the perpetrator were part of the same group, likely Thais, who argued and then engaged in a fistfight before the gunshot was fired. The incident caused locals and tourists to flee in terror.
This is a developing story and still under investigation.

A female Russian tourist was stabbed multiple times by another Russian woman this morning at the market located next to Pattaya Park in Jomtien. The victim is in serious condition at a local hospital.
The suspect is believed to have been motivated by jealousy involving the victim's husband and had been engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the stabbing.
The suspect fled the scene and police are currently hunting for her, with concerns that she may be trying to flee the country. They have positively identified her and released her information to Immigration, however.
More later this morning.

Rolling Loud begins today with gates opening shortly at Legend Siam in #Pattaya. Some things to know even if you are NOT going.
1. Traffic will be incredibly busy around the Legend Siam and Sukhumvit area. Plan your journey early or if through traffic consider an alternate route.
2. Taxi services like Grab and Bolt will also be incredibly busy the next three days and it may be difficult to find available taxis/delivery in Pattaya during the event. Again, plan for this in advance.
3. We've attached some ways of getting to and from the event at different price points.
4. Several nightclubs on Walking Street like 808 and Lucifer and Republic are hosting Rolling Loud events with top artists like Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, French Montana, F Hero, Quavo, and many more. This area will be VERY busy. Be aware.
Have fun this weekend and stay safe! Tickets are still available at the gates.

Things to know if going to the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival tonight on the beach:
-Showtimes attached.
-Beach Road in its entire length closes to traffic at 3PM until about Midnight.
-If you want to see traffic conditions live across the city don't forget about the new real-time CCTV here: https://ioc.pattaya.go.th/live-cctv?liff.state=%2Flive-cctv
-Internet often goes down during the event. Bring a phone charger and if going with a group pick an emergency meetup point in case you cannot message or call each other.
-Price gouging is unfortunately common from some taxi services. Be very clear on the price, get them to state it back to you, negotiate before you get on.
-Bolt and Grab will be either unreachable due to internet problems, backed up for hours, or unable to confirm drivers traditionally due to heavy traffic. This is also the case for delivery. Have a backup plan for transportation and stock up on food if staying home.
-Watch your valuables. With hundreds of thousands of people on the beach, unfortunately, there will be some bad apples like pickpockets. Keep your phone, wallet, etc secure. Do not wear expensive jewelry.
-Public toilets are available not just on mobile trucks on the beach but also at the malls. Keep these in mind.
-Drink plenty of water, with the crowd sizes it may get hot. Luckily, we have some cool weather today.
-Have fun! It's an amazing event and only once a year and a tremendous spectacle!
See you there!
