◾️मागील 17 वर्षांपासून दर दोन वर्षात एकदा' प्रवासी भारतीय दिन' 9 जानेवारीला साजरा करण्यात येत आहे.

◾️या दिवसाची खास गोष्ट म्हणजे भारताबरोबरच परदेशात राहणारे भारतीय नागरिक देखील या दिवसाची खास वाट पाहत असतात. कारण बाहेर राहून देखील हे लोक देशाचे नाव उज्जवल करू शकतात

◾️. राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी हे दक्षिण आफ्रिकेवरून मायदेशात परतल्याच्या दिनाचे औचित्य साधून 2003 पासून दरवर्षी 9 जानेवारीला हा दिवस साजरा करण्यात येत आहे

◾️. याच दिवशी 1915 ला महात्मा गांधी आफ्रिकेवरून भारतात परतले होते.

◾️महात्मा गांधी जेव्हा 1893 ला दक्षिण आफ्रिकेच्या नटाल प्रांतात पोहचले, तेव्हा तेथे त्यांना वर्णभेदाचा सामना करावा लागला.
