•2 फेब्रुवारी 1971 रोजी रामसर करार स्वीकृत करण्यात आला.
•1 फेब्रुवारी 1982 रोजी भारताने या करारावर स्वाक्षरी केली .
•2019 अखेर भारतात एकूण 27 रामसर स्थळे होती.
2020 मध्ये 10 ठिकाणांचा यामध्ये समावेश करण्यात आला असून आता भारतातील रामसर स्थळांची संख्या 37 इतकी झाली आहे.
नाशिक_जिल्ह्यातील_नांदूर_मधमेश्वर चा समावेश रामसर स्थळांमध्ये झाल्याने हे महाराष्ट्रातील_पहिले_रामसर_स्थळ ठरले आहे.

नांदूर मधमेश्वर अभयारण्य महाराष्ट्रातील पहिले रामसार स्थळ .
नांदूरमधमेश्वर अभयारण्य महाराष्ट्र राज्याच्या नाशिक जिल्ह्यामधील निफाड तालुक्यात स्थित आहे. हा नांदूर मधमेश्वर जलाशयाचा परिसर आहे. येथे स्थानिक आणि स्थलांतरीत पक्षी हजारोंच्या संख्येने आढळत असल्यामुळे ते महाराष्ट्राचे भरतपूर म्हणून ओळखले जाते.
गोदावरी आणि कादवा नद्यांच्या संगमावर
१९८६ मध्ये हा परिसर नांदूर मधमेश्वर अभयारण्य म्हणून अधिसूचित करण्यात आला .
इराणमधील कॅस्पियन या समुद्राच्या किना-यावरील ‘ रामसर ‘ या शहरात २ फेब्रुवारी १९७१ रोजी जगभरातील पाणथळ जागांच्या संरक्षणासाठीच्या उपाययोजनांवर चर्चा करण्यासाठी एक परिषद भरवण्यात आली. या परिषदेतील ठरावाला रामसर ठराव म्हणून ओळखले जाते. हा ठराव १९७५ सालापासून अंमलात आला.
पाणथळ प्रदेशांना मानवी जीवनात असलेले स्थान सर्वांना समजावे या हेतूने दर वर्षी २ फेब्रुवारीचा दिवस ‘ वेटलँड्स डे ’ साजरा केला जावा असा निर्णय या परिषदेत घेतला गेला. असा पहिला दिवस १९९७ साली साजरा झाला.
•राज्यसेवा पूर्व परीक्षेत यापूर्वी प्रश्न विचारण्यात आला आहे.
