This allowed the CIA to use "long-range quantum magnetometry to find the electromagnetic fingerprint of a human heartbeat and pair the data with artificial intelligence software to isolate the signature from background noise".
"It’s like hearing a voice in a stadium, except the stadium is a thousand square miles of desert. In the right conditions, if your heart is beating, we will find you,” a source told the New York Post.
The data collection was reportedly done by the HH-60 Pave Hawks that were first into Iran, which rescued the first airmen, and the data was processed by the CIA to find his location. The CIA is looking to implement this technology on F-35 fighter jets in the future.
