🇺🇸🇮🇷 - The operation to recover the second of the downed F-15 pilot was conducted 300+ miles deep inside Iranian territory, and just ~230 miles from Tehran.
The operation was carried out in the Isfahan-Qom-Natanz sensitive triangle, where a vast number of Iranian nuclear facilities are located.
An old Iranian airstrip was temporarily recovered for the operation, geolocated by andynovy to 32.258394, 51.901927.
While the military lost a couple of assets, the goal was to retrieve the serviceman–the goal was met. Most around the world would be unable to comprehend, but an American soldier is never left behind, regardless of material loss.
An embarrassment to the Iranian military, as it showcases the US can deploy and land troops almost anywhere on their lands.
