🔹 EDUCATIONAL POST.
◾️ELIMINATING THE EMOTIONAL RISK OF TRADING.
The points I'm going to be giving are excerpts from a trading psychology book I read "TRADING IN THE ZONE" and also my little contribution from understanding the book.
When I read, understood and finally accepted this,It changed my Trading for good and it could change yours too.
I'll suggest you read the full book however.
Let's delve right in.
We need to understand that as traders,There are 4 primary fears that are associated w/ Trading.
◾️Fear of Losing Money:We know we've worked hard to get this money,why should we randomly just take trades that are not going to be profitable?The truth is,No trade is a 100% guaranteed,Even your best setups could fail.
◾️Fear of missing out:As a trader,I have being in this particular position in the past, Jumping into unnecessary trades that didn't fit my plan because I don't want to miss out a great move, Most times,those trades ends up proving us wrong and we end us losing money due to that mistake.
◾️Fear of being wrong: You can agree w/ me that as humans naturally,we hate being wrong, Bringing this naturally endowed instinct to the trading world is not good for your trading cuz you could have a setup that might have invalidated your trading idea,But due to our hatred in being wrong, we naturally want to make all amendments to prove our analysis wasn't wrong.
◾️ Fear of Leaving Money on the table: Ever wondered when you take a trade that does maybe a 1:5RR,Then this trade continues selling/buying and you're imagining how you could've held longer for more profits? That's where the word "GREED" comes in,We need to be contented and accept the fact that as traders,we'll often at times leave money on the table.
🔷How do we overcome these 4 primary fears of trading?
You need to understand and accept that in trading.
1.Anything can happen:You could hope to buy a currency pair as regards to your technical analysis and it instantly starts selling,You have no control whatsoever over the direction of the markets,Be ready to accept whatever the market gives you!
2. You don't need to know what is going to happen next in order to make money : Have you ever demo Traded and randomly placed either a buy/sell order without even making a proper analysis and see that the market is giving demo profits.
3. There is a random distribution between wins and losses for any given set of variables that define an
edge.
4. An edge is nothing more than an indication of a higher probability of one thing happening over
another.
5. Every moment in the market is unique.
These are few points I can give that could give you that head start, Read the full book for more insights,Trust me, you won't regret it.👍
