The only valid reason to call someone an atheist is if they openly state that they don’t believe in God; anything else reflects personal emotions on the matter, which are far from reliable + justifying an action solely because it’s endorsed by mainstream white media is certainly not a solid argument.

And getting so worked up just because a dead person was called an atheist doesn't make any sense.

I’m quite flattered that you think I’m obsessed with him! I know absolutely nothing about him, but sure, I’ll read more about him sometime next year. Then I’ll definitely care and be super upset if someone dares to call him an atheist. But for now, I couldn’t care less.

On 22 March 1954, Einstein received a letter from Joseph Dispentiere, an Italian immigrant who had worked as an experimental machinist in New Jersey. Dispentiere had declared himself an atheist and was disappointed by a news report that had cast Einstein as conventionally religious. Einstein replied on 24 March 1954:

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

On January 3, 1954, Einstein sent the following reply to Gutkind: "The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. .... For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions."
