❍ الفيزياء
• استخدم الفيزيائيون نبضات الليزر للتَّحكم في الخواص المغناطيسيَّة للعناصر الأرضيَّة النَّادرة.
• ابتكر العلماء أداة بصريّة جديدة باستخدام مجسّات نانويَّة يُمكنها تحسين تصوير السَّرطان.

❍ الكيمياء
• لقد طوَّر العلماء برنامجًا حاسوبيًّا يصوّر الهياكل الجزيئيَّة بأسلوب الفنّان بيت موندريان.

❍ الأحياء
• ‏الرَّي الذاتيّ: يمكن لنوع جديد من التَّربة أن يمتص الماء من الهواء ويُغذي نفسه.

❍ الفضاء
• قامت المركبة الفضائيَّة Curiosity بكسر صخرة على سطح المريخ وعثرت على بلورات لم يسبق لها مثيل على الكوكب.
• تبدأ الشَّمس بالفعل دورتها الشَّمسيَّة التَّالية على الرّغم من كونها في منتصف دورتها الحاليَّة!

في محطات الطَّاقة النَّوويّة، تتم سلسلة التَّفاعلات داخل حاوية المفاعل. إذ يستخدم مشغّلو المحطات عدة طرق للتحكم بسلسلة التَّفاعلات داخل المفاعل.
