There actually exists nothing known as 'nothing.' We are surrounded by matter all the time; even the air is packed with molecules. In fact, 1 cubic cm of air contains 30 quintillion molecules. To this day, the best scientists have been able to do is create what they call an ultra-high vacuum. At this point, 1 cubic cm of space contains a mere 100 molecules, which is both astonishing and minuscule.
When we move to space, between our planet and our solar system, there is space that only contains 10 particles per cubic cm. If you leave our solar system and enter interstellar space, you will find only one particle per cubic cm. The real winner, however, is intergalactic space. Once you leave the Milky Way altogether, you can find regions where there is only one particle per cubic meter.
So, would it be possible to find a region in space where there is absolutely and literally nothing? Well, according to quantum mechanics, no. So, rest assured, whenever you feel down and think that nothing matters, you're scientifically incorrect.
