Great work, according to the dictionary.
But in my personal opinion I'd translate it as the greatEST work
Or a masterpiece.

can be interpreted in two ways
"death is coming" or "Remember death" both seem grim and dark but it has the context of "you're dying anyway, enjoy your life, live a little"
this sentiment can be seen throughout European history from stoicism up to late roman catholicism, expressed through art architecture music, and the like.
