The bible was based on Sumerian tablets but remixed. And how the hebrew words relate to it even though it’s a diff language. It talks about God(s) but most Christians havent even heard of Sumerian.

3. Why “God” sometimes looks plural.
The Hebrew word most English Bibles render as “God” is ’Elohim—a grammatically plural noun. Early verses even say, “Let us make humankind in our image.” Scholars see this as leftover plumbing from the older, many-gods universe. Later editors kept the word but paired it with singular verbs and a singular viewpoint, turning the old divine council into one supreme voice.
4. What that means in a sentence.
If the Bible feels as though it’s echoing earlier myths, that’s because it is: the authors took the best-known Mesopotamian wisdom of their day and recast it to preach one just, ethical deity instead of a squabbling pantheon. The plural hints that peek through—like ’Elohim—are fingerprints of that deeper Sumerian layer.
