Mandatory Wearing of Masks on Public Transport in Italy Ends

In Italy, it will no longer be mandatory to wear masks on public transport. This will come into effect from Saturday October 1, 2022, and was confirmed by the Italian health ministry late last night.

Friday September 30, 2022, will be the last day that will see the mandatory waring of FFP2 masks on buses, subways, trains, ferries, and trams, thus ending one of the last covid restrictions in Italy.

For the time being, the requirement to wear masks has been extended until October 31, 2022, for rest homes, hospitals, and healthcare structures.
