Message of Mentor (MOM)
Topic: That Girl

A few days back, I was travelling by train. At one railway station, I saw a young girl selling toys.

She was going from one passenger to another with hope in her eyes. But again and again, people were refusing. Some ignored her, some said no without even looking at her, and some simply turned their faces away.

For almost 30–35 minutes, nobody bought anything from her.

But she did not stop.

She kept walking. She kept asking. She kept trying.

And then, after so many rejections, one person finally purchased a toy from her.

You should have seen her face at that moment.

That tired face suddenly turned into a beautiful smile. Her eyes were shining. For her, it was not just one toy sold. It was hope. It was relief. It was a small victory after so many rejections.

And this made me think about many students.

Maybe yesterday was a bad day for you. Maybe your mock score was low. Maybe you could not study properly. Maybe you felt rejected by your own preparation, your own performance, or your own expectations.

But what if one day comes in your life when all this struggle finally gives you that one moment?

That one result.
That one selection.
That one message to your parents.
That one smile on your face.

So yes, life is hard. Preparation is hard. Rejections are hard. Bad days are hard.

But do not stop walking.
Do not stop asking from life.
Do not stop trying.

Because maybe after many difficult days, one day life will also purchase your effort, and on that day, you will smile like that girl at the railway station.

So, the question is not whether life is hard.

The question is, are you ready to keep moving until your smile comes?

Or are you ending your day with a gloomy face?

**Remember, a hard life with direction is still good.
But a simple life without any direction is just empty.**

Good Night.

With you always.

Dear Students,
Greetings!

We have covered an important article by Shankar Acharya, Honorary Professor at ICRIER and former Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, on India’s emerging macroeconomic warning signals.

The article draws a comparison with the 1990–91 crisis, when the US–Iraq–Kuwait war created a severe terms-of-trade shock for India by sharply raising global oil and gas prices.

Through this article, you will understand:

Why India’s macro indicators are being described as “locked and loaded” at red
How the Iran conflict and closure of the Strait of Hormuz can affect crude oil prices
Why higher crude prices create pressure on the current account and rupee
How India’s goods exports have declined from 17% of GDP to 11% of GDP
Why higher customs tariffs can weaken export competitiveness
Why net FDI has fallen sharply from $30–40 billion to around $6 billion
How volatile FPI flows can worsen Balance of Payments pressure
Why high fiscal deficit and debt limit India’s policy space
What structural reforms are suggested in trade, BITs, taxation and subsidies

Article Relevance: Very Important
Static Chapter Linkage: Balance of Payments, Current Account Deficit, Fiscal Deficit, Trade Policy, FDI, FPI, Exchange Rate & External Sector

Topic: The Mega Planning

What should I say today?

Let me share something funny.

Every serious aspirant has one special talent: making a perfect study plan.

Proper columns. Proper rows. Subject-wise targets. Chapter-wise targets. Time allocated from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Even breaks are planned with full sincerity.

6:00 AM – Wake up
6:15 AM – Revision
7:00 AM – Current Affairs
8:00 AM – ARD
9:00 AM – Mock Test
10:00 AM – Analysis

Everything looks so perfect on paper that even the examiner would feel proud.

But then reality enters.

6:00 AM – Alarm rings
6:05 AM – Snooze
6:15 AM – Snooze again
7:00 AM – “Today I will start fresh from 8.”
8:00 AM – “Actually, let me first make tea.”
9:00 AM – “Now the day is already disturbed. Better to restart properly from tomorrow.” 😄

My friends, if you smiled while reading this, it means this has happened with you at least once.

And that is completely fine.

A plan is useful only when you return to it again and again. Preparation is not about following the timetable perfectly every single day. It is about not leaving the journey completely just because one day did not go as planned.

So, close the day peacefully. Revise a little if possible, complete any small pending target if you can, and rest if your mind needs it.

Tomorrow, come back again, not as a perfect student, but as a consistent future officer.
