Good evening, Future Officers.

Today, while reading an editorial on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) written by Amita Batra, we came across a very important perspective.

Generally, we think that signing more FTAs is always beneficial for India because it increases trade. But the article explains how, in many cases, FTAs may benefit foreign exporters more than Indian exporters depending upon tariff structures and actual utilisation.

The editorial is slightly technical, but don’t worry, we have simplified and broken it down properly in our Editorial Course.

The analysis is already uploaded. Do give it a read.

πŸ“’ Attention Future Officers!

Take a look at the data from the RBI, the disposal of soiled β‚Ή500 notes alone jumped from 6.33 billion pieces in FY24 to a staggering 8.98 billion pieces in FY25.

But do you actually know how the RBI categorizes these banknotes under the RBI (Note Refund) Rules?

If you're a banking aspirant, you absolutely must know the difference between Soiled, Mutilated, and Imperfect notes.

Here is your Quick Decode πŸ‘‡
πŸ‘¨β€βš– Chapterss Quick Decode | Episode 17

1. Soiled Notes (Ordinary Wear & Tear)

πŸ‘‰ What it means:
A soiled note is simply a regular banknote that has grown dirty, limp, or stained through everyday handling. It is structurally intact, remains in one whole piece (or two matching pieces taped together), and all its security features and numbers are clearly visible.

πŸ‘‰ Exampl
e: You accidentally left a β‚Ή500 note in your jeans pocket, and it went through the washing machine. It comes out soggy, limp, and faded, but it is still in one whole piece (or cleanly torn into just two pieces that you taped back together).

πŸ‘‰ Bank Rule: You get 100% of your money back at any bank.

2. Mutilated Notes (Torn or Missing Pieces)

πŸ‘‰ What it means
: A note that is torn into two or more pieces, or has missing parts.

πŸ‘‰ Exampl
e: Your dog chewed up a β‚Ή200 note. You managed to rescue the biggest piece, but the puppy swallowed the rest of the corner.

πŸ‘‰ Bank Rule: The bank measures how much of the note is left. For big notes like β‚Ή500, if you have almost the whole note left (more than 80%), you get full value. If you only have half the note left, you get half your money back. If it's just a tiny scrap, you get nothing.

πŸ‘‰ If you tape two pieces of the same note together with nothing missing, it is simply a Soiled note and you get full value. However, if you only have one piece and are missing the other part of the note, it automatically becomes a Mutilated note.

3. Imperfect Notes (Disfigured or Chemically Damaged)

πŸ‘‰ What it means
: An imperfect note is a banknote that has been physically or chemically altered, making its essential features unreadable or distorted. It is not necessarily torn, but its shape, size, or appearance has been severely compromised.

πŸ‘‰ Exampl
e: A bottle of strong floor cleaner or oil spills inside your bag, soaking a β‚Ή100 note. The paper shrinks to half its size, or the ink gets completely blurred out so you can't read the numbers anymore.

πŸ‘‰ Bank Rule: If the bank can still prove it's a real note, they will replace it. If it's too damaged to recognize, they might reject it.

4. When does a note become completely worthless?

Banks will give you zero money if:

πŸ‘‰ You bring in a tiny scrap that is less than half the size of the original note.
πŸ‘‰ Someone has written political slogans or messages all over the note.

Message of Mentor (MoM)
Topic: An Important Decision

Today, YouTube officially sent us a proposal to monetize our YouTube channel and we had an internal meeting regarding this, and after thinking deeply, we have decided on one thing very clearly:

For the next 365 days, we will NOT monetize the Chapterss YouTube channel.

The reason is simple.

We do not want your learning experience to get disturbed.

If a YouTube channel is monetized, multiple ads automatically appear during videos. And if you have observed our classes carefully, most of our videos are more than 1 hour long. Some are even much longer than that.

We cannot compromise on the depth of teaching.
We cannot shorten concepts just for retention tricks.
And we also do not want ads appearing again and again while you are trying to understand an important topic.

Every single lecture that reaches you takes hours of effort behind the scenes, planning, research, teaching, recording, editing, reviewing, uploading, thumbnail creation, technical processing, and much more.

But still, for now, we have chosen learning over monetization.

Because we genuinely believe that trust is far more important than short-term earnings.

And to be very honest with you: Chapterss can only survive if your trust remains with us.

That is why we wanted to share this openly with you.
Not as a marketing message.
Not as a promotion.
But simply to build transparency between us and our students.

If possible, my friends, we have just one small request from you:

Please share our playlists of ARD, Management, and Current Affairs with your friends, Telegram groups, college communities, and aspirant circles.

Your one share can help another student. And at the same time, it helps Chapterss grow organically.

Your support truly means a lot to us.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

With You, always!

Message of Mentor

Dear Future Officers,

Your RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam is on 13th June.

At this stage, preparation is important, but your health, sleep, food, and mental stability are equally important. Please remember: you have to enter the exam hall with a calm mind, active body, and stable confidence.

Here are 10 things you must take care of from now till the exam day:

1. Sleep properly
Do not compromise your sleep. A tired mind cannot recall properly, cannot eliminate options smartly, and cannot handle pressure calmly.

2. Eat clean and light
Avoid oily, heavy, and junk food. Eat simple home food so that your body remains comfortable and your energy remains stable.

3. Do not experiment with food
This is not the time to try new outside food, street food, or anything that can disturb your stomach before the exam.

4. Drink enough water
Keep yourself hydrated. Even mild dehydration can reduce concentration and make you feel tired or irritated.

5. Do not overdo caffeine
Tea or coffee is fine in moderation, but too much caffeine can disturb your sleep and increase anxiety.

6. Take short breaks
Studying continuously for long hours without breaks will reduce efficiency. Take small breaks, breathe properly, and reset your mind.

7. Avoid unnecessary discussions
Do not get trapped in panic discussions, random cut-off predictions, or negative messages. Protect your mental space.

8. Revise, do not overload
This is the time to strengthen what you already know. Do not run blindly behind too many new sources.

9. Keep your routine exam-friendly
Start aligning your sleep, food, and study timing with the exam day. Your body should feel normal and stable on the actual day.

10. Trust your preparation
You have worked hard. Now your job is to stay calm, revise smartly, and take care of yourself.

Dear students, the last few days are not only about studying more. They are about becoming mentally sharp, physically stable, and emotionally composed.

Take care of yourself.
Your health is also part of your strategy.

With you, Always!

Sunday Special Editorial Decode

Dear Students,

Today, we have covered a very important and unique editorial on India’s first rainfall-based weather derivatives contract launched by NCDEX - RAINMUMBAI.

This is not just a normal current affairs topic. It connects multiple exam-relevant areas:

β€’ Derivatives and financial markets
β€’ Risk management
β€’ Agriculture and crop insurance
β€’ Monsoon and climate-linked economic risks
β€’ Banks, NBFCs and NPA risk
β€’ Hydropower and urban service disruptions
β€’ Role of IMD data in index-based settlement

For RBI, SEBI, NABARD and other regulatory exams, this type of topic is extremely important because it connects Finance + Agriculture + Climate Risk + Market Innovation in one place.

Do not skip this editorial. Such topics can be asked directly in MCQs, and they can also strengthen your descriptive answers and interview understanding.
