Message of Mentor

Devanshu Sir: Jalaj Sir, what is the special occasion today? You are looking very happy.

Jalaj Sir: Sir, I just checked my phone and realised that today is 25th May. We have completed one month on YouTube.

And honestly, I am feeling proud today, not in the sense of showing off, but because the vision with which we started Chapterss is slowly taking shape.

Devanshu Sir: How do you feel that the vision is taking shape?

Jalaj Sir: Sir, in the last one month, we have uploaded 50+ YouTube videos, and almost every video was purely content-driven.

No unnecessary noise around jobs.
No unnecessary hype around salaries.
No forced marketing.
No random discussions just to attract attention.

We are teaching content because we are teachers. We are not here only to sell. We are here to teach, guide, and simplify the journey of students.

Devanshu Sir: Exactly, Sir. A teacher should teach and guide students. That is the real responsibility.

Jalaj Sir: Sir, are you happy with our one-month YouTube journey?

Devanshu Sir: Very happy. We have conducted current affairs live classes consistently on YouTube. We have started structured ARD classes. We have also covered the first chapter of Management in an organised manner.

And the best part is that students who cannot afford any course are also getting access to quality content for free.

Jalaj Sir: That is the most important point, Sir. Whether a student is paid or free, a student is a student.

Devanshu Sir: Absolutely. A teacher should never differentiate between a paid student and a free student. Our duty is to teach with honesty.

Jalaj Sir: Long way to go, Sir. But yes, the journey has started.

With honest teaching, consistent effort, and the blessings of students, we hope Chapterss will keep moving in the right direction.

Dear Students,

For 25th May, we have covered 3 extremely important articles for you and honestly, all three are absolute must-reads.

1. Women & Business Loans - Understand women entrepreneurship, credit access, financial inclusion and why many women borrowers still remain outside the formal system.

2. RBI Surplus Transfer - Learn why RBI’s record surplus transfer may still not fully ease the government’s fiscal pressure, especially due to subsidies, crude oil prices and fiscal deficit concerns.

3. ATM Interchange Fee - Understand why ATM charges may be linked to WPI and how rising operating costs are affecting banks and payment infrastructure.

All three articles are important for Phase 2 + Interview preparation.

Dear Students,

We have all heard of health insurance, life insurance, vehicle insurance and travel insurance.

But what exactly is parametric insurance?

This article is important because extreme heat, erratic rainfall and climate risks are now creating demand for new types of insurance products.

So today, do not just read this as a weather-related news item. Read it as a concept linked with climate risk, insurance innovation and financial protection.

Read today’s Quick Decode below.
👨‍⚖ Chapterss Quick Decode | Episode 14

1. The Core Development: Extreme Heat Is Creating Demand for Parametric Insuran
ce

👉 India’s rising temperatures and changing climate patterns are increasing demand for parametric insurance.

👉 The article says that insurers are seeing higher demand for products covering heatwaves, excessive rainfall, floods, earthquakes and other weather-related events.

👉 This is important because climate risk is now becoming a financial risk for farmers, daily wage workers, construction workers, small businesses and urban workers.

2. What Is Parametric Insurance?

👉 Parametric insurance is an insurance product where payout is linked to a pre-decided measurable trigger, not detailed assessment of actual loss.

👉 For example, if a policy says payment will be made when temperature crosses 42°C or 44°C in a particular location, then the claim can be triggered once that condition is met.

👉 Similarly, a rainfall-based policy may automatically provide payout if rainfall in a district falls below a fixed level during the crop season.

👉 So, unlike traditional insurance, the insurance company does not first assess every individual’s exact financial loss. The payout happens based on the agreed parameter.

In simple words:

👉 Suppose you have a normal health insurance policy. If you are hospitalised, you first submit hospital bills and documents. The insurer then checks the actual expenses before settling the claim.

That is traditional insurance.

👉 But imagine a policy that promises an automatic payout if the temperature in your city crosses 45°C for three consecutive days. In that case, payment is linked to the trigger itself, not detailed proof of personal loss.

So:

Traditional insurance: Show actual loss → assessment → claim settlement
Parametric insurance: Trigger is breached → payout process starts

3. What Does the Data Say?

👉 The article says that Bajaj General Insurance sold around 85,000 parametric policies in April to early May, compared with around 90,000 policies during the entire FY26. Go Digit also covered more than 30,000 individuals between April and mid-May this calendar year, compared with 10,000 in FY26.

👉 This clearly shows that climate-linked insurance products are finding more takers.

4. Why Is This Useful?

👉 Parametric insurance is useful because it can provide faster financial relief. For a daily wage worker, farmer or construction worker, extreme heat or excess rainfall can directly affect income. If the payout is linked to a clear trigger, the claim process can become quicker and less complicated.

👉 This is why such products are being explored for climate-vulnerable groups.

👉 It is not only an insurance innovation. It is also a tool for protecting livelihoods in a climate-risk economy.

Chapterss Takeaway:
Parametric insurance pays when a pre-defined measurable trigger is breached. As extreme heat and erratic rainfall rise, such products can become important for faster financial protection of farmers, workers and climate-vulnerable households.

Message of the Day
Topic: A Good Finish Matters

Dear Future Officers,

You study day in and day out for your regulatory body exams. You put in months of effort, discipline, sacrifice, and consistency.

But when the exam comes closer, many students lose control of the ending phase.

Some start overthinking.
Some start picking up too many new sources.
Some revise randomly.
Some panic because everything starts looking important.

But remember one thing: the final phase is not about doing everything. It is about doing the right things calmly.

At this stage, staying grounded is very important.

Do not overdo it now. Do not suddenly run behind every new source. Do not let panic decide your strategy.

Keep things simple. Revise what you have already studied. Strengthen your notes. Revise important facts, reports, schemes, concepts, and PYQs. Solve questions, but do not destroy your confidence by chasing unlimited material.

A good finish does not mean studying 18 hours in panic.
A good finish means staying composed, staying grounded, revising smartly, and entering the exam hall with clarity.

At this stage, control is more important than chaos.

Keep it simple. Keep revising. Keep believing.

Your finish matters.

How RBI handled currency pressure in 2013 and 2018
Why RBI should not raise interest rates only to defend the rupee
Why FPIs are pulling money out of India
What should be the way forward in the present global uncertainty

This editorial gives a fresh perspective from someone who has been inside the RBI and MPC framework.

We have covered this masterpiece in our Editorial Course, where we decode 50+ editorials/articles in a structured, exam-oriented manner.

Dear Students,

A small but important update regarding ARD Chapter 2 – Farming System and Cropping System.

To keep your resources properly organized, we have divided Chapter 2 into two parts:

Chapter 2A: Farming System
Chapter 2B: Cropping System

Please note that academically, this remains one single chapter. We have divided it only because the chapter length was becoming large, and we wanted to give you better clarity, cleaner resources, and separate practice material.

The complete deliverables of Chapter 2A – Farming System have now been uploaded, including foundation videos, foundation notes, 190+ MCQs, Sample descriptive material, 2 descriptive tests, and solved PYQs.

Now, we will begin Chapter 2B – Cropping System from tomorrow at 5 PM. Cropping System will be completed within May itself, after which we will move to the next BIG chapter: Agronomy.

Dear Students,

Plastic money is on the ris
e

To understand what this data really says, read today’s Quick Decode below.
👨‍⚖ Chapterss Quick Decode | Episode 15

1. The Core Development: Credit Card Spending Rose in April

👉 Credit card spending in India rose 7.06% year-on-year to ₹1.97 trillion in April 2026, compared to ₹1.84 trillion in April 2025.

👉 This means consumers continued to spend actively through credit cards, even though spending was lower than March 2026, when transactions had surged to ₹2.19 trillion due to fiscal year-end activity.

👉 So, the core message is simple: credit card usage remains strong, but monthly movement can vary depending on seasonal and year-end spending patterns.

2. Why Is This Called Plastic Money?

👉 Credit cards are often called plastic money because they allow people to make payments without using physical cash. Instead of paying immediately in cash, the cardholder spends now and repays later to the bank or card issuer.

👉 This makes credit cards different from debit cards. In a debit card, money is deducted from the customer’s bank account immediately. In a credit card, the issuer provides short-term credit to the customer.

3. What Does the Data Say?

👉 According to RBI data, credit card spending in April 2026 stood at ₹1.97 trillion. The split is also important:

E-commerce transactions grew 8.76% year-on-year to ₹73,848 crore.

Point-of-sale transactions grew 6.05% year-on-year to ₹1.23 trillion.

👉 This shows that credit card usage is rising both online and offline.

5. Why Should Students Care?

👉 Credit card spending is not just a banking data point. It tells us about consumer spending behaviour, retail credit growth, digital payment adoption and the changing nature of household consumption.

👉 For banks, credit cards are also an important business segment because they generate income through interest, fees, merchant discount rates and other charges. But if users overspend or fail to repay on time, credit card dues can become a source of household financial stress.

Chapterss Takeaway:
👉 In countries like the United States, credit cards are deeply embedded in everyday consumption and household spending. This is why the US is often seen as a highly credit-card-driven economy. India is still far more UPI-led, but the rise in credit card spending shows that plastic money is becoming an important part of India’s urban consumption and retail credit story.
