What is the Creative Economy?
👉 The creative economy refers to economic activities based on creativity, ideas, intellectual property, culture, innovation, and artistic talent. Instead of producing physical goods alone, these sectors generate value through knowledge, design, entertainment, originality, and digital creativity.

👉 Examples include films, music, gaming, software, influencers, digital content creation, fashion design, arts, handicrafts, patents, copyrights, and cultural products.

👉 In simple words, the creative economy earns money from “ideas and creativity” rather than only from factories or traditional production.

Why is India Focusing on It Now?
👉 India believes that creative and digital sectors are among the fastest-growing parts of the economy. According to the article, India’s global innovation ranking improved significantly from 81st position in 2015 to 38th in 2025. India also filed a large number of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and designs, showing rising innovation activity.

👉 The government now wants better statistical measurement of this sector because many creative activities are currently informal and not fully captured in GDP and economic data.

What is Meant by “Formalisation”?
👉 Formalisation means bringing economic activities into the organised and officially recognised system.

What Government Measures Were Mentioned?
👉Several recent initiatives were discussed in the article. These include updates in the National Industrial Classification to include influencers and video games, promotion of blockchain technology, creation of a Services Index and knowledge group, and the Union Budget 2026–27 proposal for an “orange economy” aimed at boosting creative industries.

👉 These steps are intended to strengthen India’s creative ecosystem and support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

👉 The Orange Economy refers to economic activities based on creativity, culture, intellectual property, and artistic talent.

We will be starting the NABARD Grade A Day-wise Study Plan from 25th May. Under this plan, you will receive daily study targets, along with weekly objective and descriptive tests to keep your preparation structured and consistent.

2. Management Chapter 2 Class Update
Today’s Management class for Chapter 2, scheduled at 8 PM, has been postponed. It will now be released On Monday at 12 noon.

The reason is that the recorded video quality is not clear, and we do not want to upload a compromised version. We will try to get the raw file again and upload the class tomorrow.
