Dear Students,
Small but important update in the NABARD ARD Course.
Earlier, the descriptive quiz had 1 question evaluated by our team. Now, we have added 2 descriptive questions in every chapter test, and both will be evaluated by our team.
The objective is simple: write more, practise more, get evaluated, and improve your descriptive score test by test.
Also, our fresh chapter, Chapter 2: Farming System and Cropping System, will begin from tomorrow.
Please revise Chapter 1 once, because a strong understanding of Chapter 1 will help you understand Chapter 2 much better.

Topic: The Real Game of Mocks
Dear Future Officers,
If you are preparing for RBI Grade B, I am sure you must have seen different approaches towards mock tests.
Some students flex their mock scores.
Some students go under pressure after seeing low marks.
Some students attempt mocks but remain confused about what to do after that.
My dear friends, please remember one thing very clearly: mock marks are not your final reality.
If you are scoring high, maintain your calm.
If you are scoring low, again maintain your calm.
Mocks are not meant to give you overconfidence or demotivation. Mocks are meant to give you analysis.
After every mock, ask yourself three simple questions:
1. What silly mistakes did I make?
2. Were these mistakes avoidable?
3. How many marks did I lose because of these avoidable mistakes?
Now calculate those lost marks and add them to your actual mock score. You will realise that your real potential is often much higher than what the mock score is showing.
Also, after every mock, you will find some questions where you feel, “I could have solved this faster,” or “I knew this, but I approached it wrongly.” That is exactly where your learning lies.
Make a note of such mistakes.
Understand the better approach.
Do not repeat the same mistake in the next mock.
That is the real purpose of mocks.
So from now onwards, after every mock, don’t ask only,
“How many marks did I score?”
Ask:
“How many marks were actually under my control, but I lost because of my own mistakes?”
Understood?
Good Night

Hey, did you notice the hike in milk prices today?
Milk Prices Rise by ₹2/Litre
We all know that inflation means a general rise in the prices of goods and services. Here also, the rise in milk prices is definitely a case of inflation.
But the real exam-oriented question is:
Which type of inflation is this?
Answer 👇
Milk Prices Rise by ₹2/Litre
We all know that inflation means a general rise in the prices of goods and services. Here also, the rise in milk prices is definitely a case of inflation.
But the real exam-oriented question is:
Which type of inflation is this?
Answer 👇
Correct Answer: Cost-Push Inflation
What is Cost-Push Inflation?
Cost-push inflation occurs when the prices of goods and services rise because the cost of production increases. In this situation, producers face higher input costs, and to manage these rising expenses, they pass on a part of the burden to consumers through higher prices.
Why This News Reflects Cost-Push Inflation?
In this news, milk prices have increased by ₹2 per litre. The reason given is not a sudden increase in the demand for milk. Instead, the companies have clearly mentioned that the hike is due to an increase in the overall cost of operation and production of milk.
What Costs Have Increased?
The article mentions a rise in the cost of cattle feed, milk packaging film, fuel, and other operational expenses. These are important input costs in the dairy supply chain. When these costs increase, the cost of producing, packaging, and transporting milk also increases.
Role of Farmer Procurement Price
The news also mentions that farmer procurement prices have been increased. This means dairy farmers are being paid more for the milk they supply. While this supports farmer welfare, it also increases the cost for milk companies, which can then reflect in higher milk prices for consumers. The procurement price (what companies pay farmers) has increased by ₹30 per kg fat, representing a 3.7% increase compared to May 2025.
Interestingly, the companies mention this ₹2 hike is only a partial pass-through of their increased costs, trying to balance farmer welfare with consumer interests.

RBI has announced a ₹30,000 crore switch auction of government bonds.
At first glance, this may look like a technical debt market update.
But for RBI, SEBI, PFRDA and IFSCA aspirants, this is an important concept linked to Government Securities and bond market.
So the real question is:
What exactly is a Switch Auction, and why does the Government use it?
Let’s decode this in simple words.
What is a Switch Auction?
A switch auction is a debt management tool used by the government, through the RBI, to exchange existing government securities with new government securities.
In simple words, the government says, “We will take back some old bonds that are maturing soon and give investors new bonds that will mature later.” So, it is not fresh borrowing in the usual sense. It is more like replacing shorter-maturity debt with longer-maturity debt.
What is Happening in This News?
In this case, the government wants to switch ₹30,000 crore worth of government bonds. The old bonds are maturing between 2027 and 2030. Through the switch auction, these bonds will be exchanged with longer-tenor government securities maturing between 2035 and 2060.
This simply means that the government is trying to push some of its near-term repayment burden into the future.
Why Does the Government Do This?
The main purpose of a switch auction is debt maturity management. When many government bonds mature within a short period, the government has to repay a large amount at once.
This creates redemption pressure on the government. Through a switch auction, the government reduces this near-term repayment pressure by replacing shorter-maturity bonds with longer-maturity bonds.
Simple Example:
Suppose the government has to repay ₹1,000 crore in 2027. Instead of repaying this amount in 2027, the government may offer investors a new bond that matures in 2040.
So, the government’s repayment obligation shifts from 2027 to 2040. This does not remove the debt, but it spreads the repayment burden over a longer period.
What does “6.79% GS 2027” mean?
6.79% GS 2027 is the name of a Government Security. Here, 6.79% means the annual coupon rate or interest rate on the bond. For example, if the face value of the bond is ₹100, the government pays ₹6.79 as interest every year.
Final Exam Takeaway:
A switch auction is used to exchange government securities maturing in the near future with longer-tenor government securities. It helps the government reduce near-term redemption pressure, smoothen the debt maturity profile, and improve public debt management
