Earlier, India’s forex reserves had reached an all-time high of $728.494 billion in the week ended February 27, 2026. However, after the beginning of the West Asia conflict, the rupee came under pressure, forcing the RBI to intervene in the forex market through dollar sales.
The major fall came from foreign currency assets, which declined by $2.797 billion to $551.825 billion.
Gold reserves also declined sharply by $5.021 billion to $115.216 billion during the week. However, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) increased by $15 million to $18.789 billion, while India’s reserve position with the IMF rose by $8 million to $4.863 billion.
4 Components of Foreign Exchange Reserves
1. Foreign Currency Assets (FCA):
These are assets held by the RBI in major foreign currencies such as the US dollar, euro, pound and yen. It is the largest component of India’s forex reserves.
2. Gold Reserves:
This refers to the gold held by the RBI as part of India’s external reserves. It provides stability and acts as a safe reserve asset during global uncertainty.
3. Special Drawing Rights (SDRs):
Think of SDR as a special emergency balance given by the IMF to its member countries. If a country needs foreign currency, it can exchange SDRs for major global currencies such as the US dollar, euro, pound, yen or Chinese yuan.
4. Reserve Position in the IMF:
This is like India’s emergency balance with the IMF. If needed, India can use this amount to get foreign currency support.

The School Management Committee Guidelines 2026 have been launched under the broader vision of the National Education Policy 2020.
Since NEP 2020 is an evergreen topic for regulatory body exams, this is the right time to revise its major highlights once again.
In the next message, we will share the major highlights of NEP 2020 that you should remember for the exam.
👇
Major Highlights of National Education Policy 2020
1. Universalization of School Education
NEP 2020 aims to universalize education from pre-school to secondary level. The target is to achieve 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in school education by 2030, ensuring that every child gets access to formal education.
2. Higher Education Expansion
The policy aims to increase the GER in higher education to 50% by 2035. For this, around 3.5 crore additional seats are expected to be added in higher education institutions.
3. Bringing Out-of-School Children Back
NEP 2020 focuses on bringing around 2 crore out-of-school children back into the mainstream education system. This is important for reducing dropouts and promoting inclusive education.
4. New 5+3+3+4 School Structure
The earlier 10+2 system has been replaced with a 5+3+3+4 curricular structure. This includes 12 years of schooling and 3 years of Anganwadi/pre-schooling, making early childhood education a formal part of the learning system.
5. Flexibility in Subject Choice
The policy removes rigid separation between academic streams, extracurricular streams, and vocational streams. This means students can choose subjects more flexibly instead of being restricted to fixed streams like science, commerce, or arts.
6. Vocational Education from Class 6
NEP 2020 gives importance to skill-based education by introducing vocational education from Class 6. It also includes internship exposure, helping students develop practical skills from an early stage.
7. Mother Tongue/Regional Language as Medium
The policy recommends that teaching up to at least Grade 5 should preferably be in the mother tongue, regional language, or local language. This is aimed at improving conceptual understanding and learning outcomes among children.
8. Single Apex Regulator (HECI)
The policy proposes setting up the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) as a single, overarching umbrella body for entire higher education, excluding medical and legal education. This will replace the fragmented system of UGC and AICTE.
9. New Assessment Paradigm (PARAKH)
To shift away from rote memorization, board exams will be made "low stakes." A new National Assessment Centre called PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) will be set up as a standard-setting body to test core competencies.
10. Strengthening School Governance through SMCs
Under the vision of NEP 2020, the SMC Guidelines 2026 aim to strengthen school-level governance through community participation. SMCs involve parents, teachers, local representatives and community members in monitoring school functioning and improving accountability. They help make school education more participatory, transparent and responsive to local needs.
11. Financial Commitment to Education
The policy explicitly reiterates the long-standing goal of the government and states to work together to increase public investment in the Education sector to reach 6% of GDP at the earliest.
Thank you

Message of Mentor (MoM)
Topic: The right question
Dear Future Officers,
Whenever you attempt a mock test, three things can happen.
You may get a good score.
You may get a very low score.
Or you may land somewhere in between.
Sometimes things work in your favour, sometimes they do not, and sometimes you are not even able to understand what exactly went right or wrong.
But after every mock, there is only one honest question you need to ask yourself:
Did I give my best in this mock?
Because in the actual examination, the final result is not completely in your hands. What is in your hands is your effort, discipline, honesty, and consistency.
If you gave your best today, then sleep peacefully. You did your part.
But if you know that you did not give your best, then tomorrow you must replan. Ask yourself:
What went wrong?
Where did I lose focus?
Was it lack of revision?
Was it poor time management?
Was it fear, laziness, or overconfidence?
Once you identify the mistake, make sure you do not repeat it.
Many students keep chasing the result first. But the right order is different:
First effort. Then improvement. Then result.
Become capable of giving your best every single day. Once your efforts become honest and consistent, better results will definitely follow.
So tonight, I leave you with just one question:
Are you giving your best?
Good night.
Thank you for all the trust you have shown in us.

Dear Future Officers,
Sometimes, we spend ₹50, ₹100, ₹300 or ₹500 very casually. A burger, a pizza, a movie ticket, one random subscription, one unnecessary online order and the money is gone.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying these things. But as an aspirant, one question is worth asking:
If the same money can bring me closer to my goal, should I not invest it more wisely?
At Chapterss, this is exactly what we are trying to build, high-value learning at a price that every serious student can afford.
Your learning can start with just ₹51 for one chapter.
You can access the Editorial Course at only ₹350.
You can start the ARD Course at ₹600.
You can get the Full Management Course at just ₹650.
And the Current Affairs Package is available at ₹750, giving you structured support for the coming months through classes, PDFs, MCQs, editorials and revision.
So the point is simple. Before spending money on things that give satisfaction for only a few minutes, ask yourself:
Can this amount give me knowledge instead?
Can this amount improve my preparation instead?
Can this amount take me one step closer to becoming an officer?
Because at the end of the day, preparation is not built only by big decisions.
It is also built by small wise choices.
At Chapterss, we want every rupee you invest to give you clarity, confidence and long-term value.
So my friend, the choice is yours.
You can spend ₹51 on something temporary today,
or you can start learning with ₹51 and invest in your future.
Choose wisely. Prepare seriously.
Good night, Future Officers.
