🚨 DGCA issues new safety rule for air travellers

India’s aviation regulator DGCA has restricted the use of power banks for charging devices during flights.

What’s changed?

• Power banks cannot be used mid-flight to charge phones or laptops
• Charging devices using power banks via seat USB or outlets is not allowed

Why this decision?

Lithium-based power banks carry overheating and fire risks, especially at cruising altitude.
The move follows safety concerns after recent in-flight incidents.

What’s still allowed?

• Power banks can still be carried in hand baggage
• Only usage during the flight is restricted

Travel tip ✈️

• Board flights with 50–60% battery
• Do not assume in-flight charging will always be available

Safety-first approach — even if it means less convenience.
