On the one hand, it is a modern system designed from the ground up to interact with smart munitions and control remotely located mines.
In other words, it has very good electronics and systems at its core, no additional work is needed to upgrade it like with existing Uragans to the Uragan-1M standard, which was cancelled.
On the other hand the modularity sounds good, you can use the mines that come in 144mm rockets, the 120mm rockets from the Tornado-G, the rockets from the TOS-1A and the long range rockets from the TOS-2, plus it is said that it will use 220mm from the Uragan.
As I said the Uragan-1M was cancelled, I'm not sure at what point the development of 220mm smart ammunition was left, in any case although this is something that can be resolved, putting it into production and scaling up production is not an easy thing to do.
But nevertheless, in early January an event occurred that makes all of the above even more interesting.
It was discovered that Russia had launched North Korean "Kimskanders" into Ukraine.
Since the talks between Korea and Russia became public, there has been much speculation about what they would buy.
Yes, basic artillery ammunition, but what about something else?
And we had confirmation.
So knowing that Russia is even using KN-23s (the Korean Iskander), the use of smaller ammunition does not amount to anything we can consider an "international escalation".
The Korean missile fleet is: varied, extensive and secret.
But in general what I imagine is that the 'Revival' will be fuelled by "MADE IN Best Korea" guided munitions, easily KN-09 or other variants.
In general we are talking about Russia being about to develop a system analogous to HIMARS (the TornadoS is too big and used at other levels, the TornadoG too small) and thanks to the modularity of the new system, not only to use its own ammunition, but to be able to make use of and integrate the huge Korean ammunition pool.
On the other hand, the timing matches simply too well:
1 - The new system is announced
2 - A few days later the first major use of Korean ammunition takes place.
3 - There is talk in the Kremlin between Putin and representatives of the Korean government about buying precisely Korean GMLRS.
4 - The new complex is promised to be firing in a few months.

Continuing on the subject of Russian MLRS modernisation, as I said the Uragan-1M project was cancelled.
However, similar objects to the 1M were seen on a train somewhere in Russia heading towards the front some weeks ago.
In my opinion, this is simple, the old chassis ЗиЛ-135ЛЛМ was outdated in every possible way, being a 50's design the truck was difficult to maintain, consumed a lot of fuel and so on.

I think they have simply taken the old launchers, and put them on the new unified chassis БАЗ-69092, which is much better in every way, more modern and fits with the logistics of other current systems, the launcher however is the same or so it seems from the pictures, so the fire performance is probably the same.
The head of the ground forces' missile and artillery forces, Lieutenant General Dmitry Klimenko, stated in an interview on 17 November that the Uragans will be replaced by the Tornado-S, once all the Smerchs have been replaced and depending on the unit with one priority or another, but in general the Uragan will disappear sooner or later. When is harder to say due to the ongoing war and the expansion of the Armed Forces, but I don't think there will be a modernisation of the system beyond keeping it alive for a little while.

🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🚢 Insurers Seek to Exclude US, UK Ships From Red Sea Coverage
🔶️ Some ship insurers are starting to avoid covering US and UK merchant ships against war risks when they navigate the southern Red Sea, another sign of blowback since the two nations’ airstrikes on Yemen last week.

Destruction of an American International MaxxPro armoured vehicle with M58 MICLIC remote demining system in the Kherson area.
Precise drop from a quadrocopter on the pyro-cord and epic explosion, after which literally a pile of ashes remained from the armoured vehicle and the installation.
