Ajanta Paintings (Ajanta is Close to Aurangabad) :
✅ Ajanta is a great place to learn Indian classical painting, sculpture, and architecture.
✅ From the second century BCE until the seventh century CE, this area saw development under the patronage of the Satavahanas, Vakatakas, and Guptas before being abandoned.
✅ The frescoes in Ajanta were not reproductions of other artwork.
✅ The figures were conceptually constructed by the painters. The subjects they painted reflected the soul of the artists.
✅ In Indian culture, a dhyanamantra isrepeated in meditation prior to beginning a painting or sculpture. The figurines appear to be breathing, then.
✅ Examples: Bodhisatva Padmapani, Bodhisatva Vajraapani, the Black princess, the dying princess, renunciation of Siddhartha, Buddha and Yashodhara are the master pieces of Ajanta paintings.
