UPDATE:An unknown man who threatened to detonate the Iranian consulate in Paris has been detained by special forces during a counterterrorism operation.

It is reported that the detainee had a suicide belt in his possession.

The publication, citing three American sources, states that in the coming days, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will announce sanctions against the battalion for human rights violations on the West Bank of the Jordan River. This would be the first instance of the U.S. imposing sanctions on an Israeli army unit, according to Axios.

The sanctions are expected to prohibit the unit from receiving any military aid or training from the U.S. According to Axios’ sources, the decision to sanction “Netzah Yehuda” is based on incidents that occurred before the Hamas attack on October 7. The State Department has not commented on the potential imposition of sanctions against the Israeli army unit.
