January 2, 1946, exactly 72 years ago, Pierre-Augustin Chaboseau (nomen mysticum Sar August) died, one of the founders of the Martinist Order. Dr. Papus (Gerard Encausse) and Augustin Chaboseau exchanged martinist lines of succession to establish the Martinist Order in 1888. Pierre-Augustin Chaboseau was initiated in 1886 by his aunt. At that time he was twenty years old. According to him, "Initiation was an oral transmission of the teaching and a definite understanding of the laws of the Universe and Spiritual life, and this Initiation should not be understood as an Initiation conducted in ritual form." Augustin Chaboseau was a member of the Paris Society for Independent Esoteric Studies (Independant d'etudes Esoterique de Paris) and was the editor of the official organ of the society called "Le Voile d'Isis". In 1893, Pierre-Augustin Chaboseau left the Supreme Council of the Martinist Order. He decided to distance himself from the Martinist Order and immerse himself in social activities. Chaboseau also became a member of the French Lodge "Socialist Movement" of the Grand Orient de France and received the third Degree in the "Foyer Maconnique Lodge". In 1919, he left this Lodge and became a member of the co-Masonic Order "Le Droit humain". Out of respect for him, Papus never dismissed Chaboseau from his post in the Supreme Council of the Martinist Order. After the death of Papus, a split occurred, and Chaboseau , together with Victor-Émile Michelet and Lucien Chamuel, founded the "Traditional Order of Martinists" to emphasize their connection with the original Martinist Order.

On January 3, 1894, exactly 125 years ago, Samuel Liddle MacGregor Mathers consecrated the temple of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn "Ahathoor N° 7". This temple was the last one founded before the schism of the Order of the Golden Dawn. The temple was located at the address: 1 Avenue Duquesne, Paris, France. In the first three years of the Temple’s work, 11 candidates were initiated in it. In particular, in the "Ahathoor N° 7" , Dr. Papus (Gerard Encausse), founder of the Martinist Order and head of Sovereign Sanctuary of Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraïm for France, was initiated into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn there. He can be called a honorary member of the Order of the Golden Dawn.

On January 6, a partial solar eclipse will occur at the 15th degree of Capricorn.

There are different interpretations of how this astrological event affects various spheres of people's lives. Peter Stockinger, an astrologer who adheres to classical Western astrology, however, believes that not all polls will be under the negative influence of a solar eclipse on January 6, 2019. According to his interpretation:

January 6, 1946, exactly 73 years ago, Violet Mary Firth (Dion Fortune) died, author of works on occult theme, including artistic ones, as well as a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the Martinist Order. She is better known under the pseudonym Dion Fortune (rephrased her family’s motto: “Deo, non fortuna” (Latin: “Thanks to God, not fortune”)). Dion Fortune claimed to have undergone a magical attack from Moina Mathers and left the Order of the Golden Dawn. In 1922, Dion Fortune and her husband Penry Evans founded the Brotherhood of the Inner Light. Among the most famous writings of Dion Fortune: "The Mystical Kabbalah," "Psychic Self-Defense." Some of her works have been translated into Russian.

On January 6, 1915, exactly 104 years ago, Demetrius Platon Semelas (1883-1924) together with Maria Dupre founded the Order of the Lily and the Eagle (L'Ordre du Lys et de L'Agle - O.L.A.) “for the revival of the Orphic spirit”. Semelas met Dupre family in 1909. Demetrius Semelas was one of the closest fellows of Dr. Papus (Gerard Encausse), he also was a Secretary of Martinist Order and he revived the Order of the Rose + Cross of the East.

January 7, 1951, exactly 68 years ago, René Jean-Marie-Joseph Guénon died, who was martinist and member of Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim, and subsequently he was expelled by Dr. Papus (Gérard Encausse) from both of the organisations. He was expelled because he once told Dr. Papus that the archangel Michael had come to him and ordered Guenon to convert to Islam, as well as to convert to Islam all the Martinists and the members of Memphis-Misraim. It goes without saying that Dr. Papus did not tolerate this, and excluded Guenon from the Martinist Order. The works of Guenon, numerous, although had no direct influence on the Western occult tradition, they served as the foundation for the development of the ideas of traditionalism, Italian and Romanian fascism and German Nazism. The ideas of Guenon inspired Julius Evola, Mircea Eliade and some figures of Ahnenerbe, Thule Society, and the ideas of Guenon still influence the ideology of Eurasianism, neo-Nazism and other questionable and involutive teachings that influenced the history of the XX century, world wars and policies of some states.

On January 8, 1740, exactly 279 years ago, Count Tadeusz Leschits-Grabyanka died (Faddey Iosifovich Grabenka). Count Grabyanka was a Polish alchemist, mystic and occultist, a member of the Avignon Society founded by Abbot Pernetty.

Robert Ambelain wrote that Count Grabyanka used the practice transmitted by Pernetty to members of the Avignon Society, inherently similar to the Abramelin’s theurgic method and the practice of the Elus Cohens of Martínez de Pasculli, aimed at invoking Guardian Angel and his knowing.

While living in Avignon, he founded the Masonic Lodge “People of God”, whose activities were then transferred to the Russian Empire. At first, having a great success with representatives of the high society of St. Petersburg, he later fell into disfavor because they had a superstitious fear of alchemy and magical art. Grabyanka was taken into custody as a distributor of "Freemasonry in the Catholic spirit" and a possible agent of Napoleon. Grabyanka died after six months spent in the Peter and Paul Fortress, as it was said then, by taking poison. He was buried in the Basilica of St. Catherine on Nevsky Prospect.

On January 9, 1807, exactly 212 years ago, Princess Frederica Charlotte Maria Württemberg was born, in Orthodox christening Elena Pavlovna - Russian Grand Duchess, philanthropist, state and public figure, a well-known supporter of the abolition of serfdom and the great liberal reforms. She was initiated into matrinism by followers of Louis Claude de Saint-Martin. During her life, Elena Pavlovna supported the creation of many charitable organizations in Russian Empire, supported artists, writers and poets, scientists, and medical figures. Among those who where patronized by Elena Pavlovna, and who left about her enthusiastic memories are: poet and prose writer Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, marine painter Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky, composer Anton Grigorievich Rubinstein, artist Karl Pavlovich Bryullov, surgeon Nikolai Ivanovich Pirogov, poet Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev and many other great figures of science, culture and art.

She contributed to the publication of the posthumous collection of essays of Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol, acted as one of the founders of the Holy Cross Church of the Sisters of Charity with dressing stations and mobile hospitals, she tied up wounds. Her activities during the war in Crimea contributed to the development and advancement of the Red Cross.

Elena Pavlovna generously donated funds for the education of new medical institutions, the maintenance of conservatories, institutes and other educational institutions. She never refused financial support to anyone, but in many things refused to herself.

On the instructions of Elena Pavlovna, the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, a short prayer book and the penitential canon of Andrew of Crete were translated and published in French, “in order to acquaint foreigners with the beauty and depth of our worship and facilitate the understanding of our prayers for those who accepted Orthodoxy”.

She was highly educated person, one of the brilliant people of her time, who was recognized by her outstanding contemporaries, noting that she repeatedly confounded with her deep questions specialists in various fields of knowledge and activity. It was in her circle that reforms were formed and prepared to abolish serfdom in the Russian Empire. She was the first to free the peasants in her estate, trying to set a positive example. It is impossible to describe all the benefits of Elena Pavlovna, they are too numerous and not all are known to the public. Her last days she chose to live in the Russian Empire, in spite of all the doctors' admonitions, in order to maintain her health, to live in Italy, in Florence. According to Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev, hardly anyone could replace her.

Она содействовала изданию посмертного сборника сочинений Николая Васильевича Гоголя, выступила одной из основательниц Крестовоздвиженской общины сестёр милосердия с перевязочными пунктами и подвижными лазаретами, сама перевязывала раны. Ее деятельность во время войны в Крыму способствовала развитию и продвижению Красного Креста.

Елена Павловна щедро жертвовала средства на образование новых медицинских учреждений, поддержание консерваторий, институтов и иных учебных учреждений. Она никогда и никому не отказывала в финансовой поддержке, но во многом отказывала самой себе.

По поручению Елены Павловны были переведены и изданы на французском языке литургия Святого Иоанна Златоуста, краткий молитвослов и покаянный канон Андрея Критского, «чтобы познакомить иностранцев с красотою и глубиною нашего богослужения и облегчить принявшим православие понимание наших молитв».

Она была образованнейшим человеком, одним из умнейших людей своего времени, что признавали ее выдающиеся современники, отмечая, что она неоднократно ставила в тупик своими глубокими вопросами специалистов в различных сферах знания и деятельности. Именно в ее кругу формировались и подготавливались реформы по отмене крепостного права в Российской Империи. Она первой освободила крестьян в своем имении, стремясь показать положительный пример. Невозможно описать всех благодеяний Елены Павловны, они слишком многочисленны и не все известны общественности. Последние свои дни она предпочла прожить в Российской Империи, не смотря на все увещевания врачей в том, что она должна была, для поддержания своего здоровья, жить в Италии, во Флоренции. По словам Федора Ивановича Тютчева, ее вряд ли кто-то смог бы заменить.
