On December 1, 1861, 159 years ago, Victor Emile Michelet was born. In his youth, he was a friend of Stanislas de Guaita and an ardent follower of Edouard Schur. He participated in the creation of the Martinist Order in 1890, in Paris he headed Lodge "Velleda", which considered its main purpose studying of symbolism. After the death of Doctor Papus, together with Augustin Chaboseau and Lucien Chamuel, they founded the Traditional Martinist Order (TMO), which was given such a name to emphasize their attitude to the original Martinist Order, which was headed by Papus.

Victor Emile Michelet wrote poems with esoteric meaning. In 1910 he became president of the "Society of French Poets", and in 1932 - a member of the "House of Poetry".

December 3, 1954, 66 years ago, Sergey Vladimirovich Tukholka died. He was the author of several works on the occult, a translator, state councilor and consul in the Middle East and the Balkans. From 1898 he was in diplomatic work abroad. In particular, from 1902 to 1906 he was vice-consul in Prizren (Serbia), and in 1907 he occupied the position of Russian consul in Kosovo Mitrovica, where he advocated the protection of Serbs from Albanians and Turks, was highly respected among Serbs. In 1912-1913 he was Consul General in Skopje. In addition, in different years he was consul in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), in Baghdad (Iraq), in Basra (Iraq), Varna (Bulgaria). In 1920 he emigrated to Constantinople, where he was engaged in protecting the interests of Russian refugees. In 1922 he moved to Paris, where he worked as a translator. In 1924-1935 he gave public lectures on the occult ("Theory of Knowledge", "The Secret of Occultism", etc.). From the beginning of the 1930s, he was in the Paris Masonic Lodge "Jupiter". Sergey Tukholka wrote the famous work “Occultism and Magic” (published in St. Petersburg in 1907 and reprinted many times ”), as well as“ Processes of witchcraft in Western Europe in the XV-XVII centuries ”(St. Petersburg, 1909). He was buried in Paris at the Pantin cemetery.

Occult travels: Père Lachaise Cemetery

Teurgia.Org presents the first issue of the Occult Travels project, dedicated to the Paris Père Lachaise Cemetery. Famous occultists of the 19th-20th centuries are buried in the cemetery. On December 7, 1875, 145 years ago, Pierre Michel Eugène Vintras died - a French religious leader who claimed to be the incarnation of the prophet Elijah. He became a follower of the fraudster notary Ferdinand Geoffroi, who claimed that the adventurer Karl Wilhelm Naundorff is the legitimate French king Louis XVII.

Vintras claimed that the archangel Michael, the Virgin Mary and Joseph appeared to him, and ordered him to preach some new Gospel - “The Work of Mercy”. His teachings had followers, among whom was Joseph-Antoine Boullan. Vintras himself was imprisoned for five years for stealing money from two women. On October 8, 1843, Pope Gregory XVI condemned sect of Vintras. Vintras died in 1875.

Antoine Fabre d’Olive is a significant author of the French occult school, along with Saint-Yves d’Alveydre, Stanislas de Guayta, Doctor Papus, Paul Sedir, etc. Among the writings of d'Olive are: “The Cosmology of Moses,” “The Golden Poems of Pythagoras,” and “Hebrew Language.” He practiced magnetism and deeply immersed in the techniques of using the astral agent.

December 11, 1725, exactly 295 years ago, Ivan Perfilievich Yelagin was born - a Russian statesman, historian, poet, philosopher, freemason. Yelagin was the Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Lodge in St. Petersburg.

In the period from 1766 to 1779, Yelagin was the director of the Imperial Theaters of Russia. Yelagin is considered one of the founders of Slavophilism.

In 1772, Yelagin became a provincial Grand Master and reorganized the lodges that existed at that time in Russia into a single system. Under the management of the Yelagin's Grand Lodge, 14 lodges worked in the first half of the 70s of the 18th century. The total number of members of the Yelagin's lodges was about 400 freemasons. Yelagin developed vigorous activity, both in the spread of Freemasonry and in its improvement.

On December 12, 1876, exactly 144 years ago, Octave Béliard was born - a French Martinist, doctor and writer. He received the initiation into martinism in the direct line of Papus, and after the collapse of the original Martinist Order, he became a member of the Supreme Council of l'Ordre Martiniste Traditionnel.

In 1896, Octave Béliard first met Martinism, thanks to Auguste Chauvet, a friend and physician of Saint-Yves d'Alveydre. Octave Béliard became a member of the Lodge “Les Temps nouveaux” in Nantes. In 1907, in collaboration with Dr. Leo Gaubert, he published the book “Le Périple”, devoted to the occult sciences.

Over time, Octave Béliard more and more turned to literature, moved away from practicing medicine. His writings include “Le Passé Merveilleux” (1909), “Aventures d'un Voyageur qui explora le Temps” (1909), “Sorcières, Rêveurs et Démoniaques” (1920), “Magnétisme et Spiritisme” (1933), “Décapité Vivant et Autres Histoires d'Outre-Vie” (1944), “A Propos d'Occultisme” (1950).

After the collapse of the Martinist Order created by Papus and Chaboseau, Octave Béliard, along with Auguste Chauvet and Leo Gaubert, attempted to create "l'Ordre des chevaliers du Christ", "l'Ordre du Graal". Together with Victor-Émile Michelet and Augustin Chaboseau in 1931 they created l'Ordre Martiniste Traditionnel, and Octave Béliard entered the Supreme Council.

On December 14, 1882, exactly 138 years ago, Georges Lagrez (nomen mysticum EQUES A ROSAE CARITATIS) was born. He took an active part in initiatic organizations. Teder initiated Georges Lagrez into martinism on June 30, 1906, he was a member of the Supreme Council under Papus from October 8, 1908, and also served as Inspecteur Principal of the Martinist Order from October 10, 1908. Teder also accepted Lagrez in the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose + Cross. He was a Chevalier du Temple et Prefet of Strict Observance and the Swedish Rite. In 1937, several officers of the Grand Prieure de Helvetia of the “Chevaliers Bienfaisants de la Site Sainte” recognized Georges Lagrez as the “Grand Profes”.
