February 1, 1906, 113 years ago, Philippe Encausse was born, the son of Doctor Papus (Gerard Encausse). Philippe Encausse founded in 1960 the Paris Martinist Order (L'Ordre Martinist de Paris). After a while, this Order became the vestibule to the Elus Cohens of Robert Ambelain. Philippe Encausse set himself the goal of reunifying all Martinist Orders. Under his leadership, the federation "Union of Martinist Orders" was created. In 1968, Philippe Encausse signed a protocol that concluded an alliance between the Universal Gnostic Church and the Martinist Order of Paris. This caused the separation of many groups from the Order, they gave rise to new Martinist branches, and maintained friendly relations with the Paris Martinist Order, as Philippe Encausse, foreseeing a negative reaction to an alliance with the Gnostic Church, announced the possibility of a peaceful and legitimate separation. Philippe Encausse was publishing his father's works, wrote his biography, did much to perpetuate the memory of Dr. Papus (Gerard Encausse).

February 1, 1894, 125 years ago, was born Gustave Lambert Brahy (n.m. Eleusis) - the famous Belgian astrologer and explorer of space cycles, as well as the head of the Belgian Martinist Order. He invented the term "astrodynamics", in 1929 founded the Astrological Institute of Belgium, and in the same year founded the journal "Demain", in which he published his economic forecasts. Brahy has written a number of books on astrology, as well as a book about traveling to the United States for Europeans. Brahy founded "O.M. Belgique" in 1968. The Order was established after Philippe Encausse made the decision to make an alliance between the Paris Martinist Order and the Universal Gnostic Church. Brahy was a member of the Supreme Council of the Martinist Order.

February 3, 1926, exactly 93 years ago, Paul Sedir (real name Yvon Le Loup) died, a French occultist, Martinist, author of books on esoterica and Christian mysticism. In 1889, he met Papus in an esoteric shop, where conferences were also held. Further, he became friend of Stanislas de Guaita, Phillip Nizier and their other colleagues in the field of occult sciences. In 1920, Paul Sedir founded the charitable Christian society "Spiritual Friendship" (fr. Amitiés Spirituelles), which is still operating. Paul Sedir wrote many works on magic mirrors, magic spells, Rosicrucian history and philosophy. Martinist A.V. Troyanovsky translated his works into Russian.

He had a significant influence on Papus and Stanislas de Guaita. On February 5, 1848, exactly 171 years ago, Joris-Karl Huysmans, a French writer, was born. His father came from an old kind of Netherlandish artists and was also a painter himself. Huysmans received an incomplete juridical education and earned his living as an official of the Ministry of the Interior, realizing that, earning solely with writing, he would always live in poverty.

During his life Huysmans did not adhere to a single literary trend. He is immediately attributed to realists, decadents and mystics, so diverse was his work. Huysmans published his first book, "Le drageoir aux épices", at his own expense, not listening to the negative review of the publisher Etzel, and was right: a little book with prose poems that clearly had the influence of Baudelaire, gained success with readers and literary critics.

Huysmans was considered the "first decadent" after he published the book "À rebours". After naturalism, Huysmans turned to a mystical trend in literature. His mystical works include the "Là-bas", "L'Echo de Paris". In 1892, Joris-Karl Huysmans adopted Catholicism and he switched to a religious theme: the writings "La cathédrale", "Les foules de Lourdes", "Trois Églises".

At one time, Huysmans, along with Jules Bois, supported Bullian, who at that time was convicted by the Catholic Church for worshiping the Devil. Subsequently, Jules Bois joined the devil-worshiping groups, and Huysmans became a member of the Martinist Order, as can be seen by radically revising his views.

In 1905, the writer was diagnosed with cancer, after 2 years he died.

They also used the names of ancient Greek cities in their cypher for the designation of European cities, for example, Munich was called Athens. In 1784, the Order of the Illuminati was banned by the efforts of the Bavarian Kurfurst.

Weishaupt was a professor of natural and canon law at the University of Ingolstadt. February 8, 1810, exactly 209 years ago, Eliphas Levi was born (Alphonse Louis Constant), a French occultist who inspired a whole line of prominent French and English occultists to study the occult sciences and revive high occultism. Author of many deep works on occult themes.

Eliphas Levi was born in Paris in the family of a shoemaker. His cleverness and penchant for deep reflection was noticed by the parish priest. Eliphas Levi graduated from the seminary, but could not stay on the church path because of left-wing political views and the rejection of the vow of celibacy.

Eliphas Levi was a friend of Edward Bulwer-Lytton (author of the Rosicrucian novel "Zanoni"). Supposedly, along with him, he was in a certain Rosicrucian society, whose secrets he may have encrypted in his first book, released in 1855, The "The Dogma and Ritual of High Magic" ("Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie").

After the publication of "Dogma and the Ritual", its continuation followed, "Key to the Great Mysteries" ("La Clef des Grands Mystères"), then "Legends and Symbols" ("Fables et Symboles") (1862) and "Science of the Spirits" were published ("La Science des Esprits") (1865). In 1868, he wrote "The Great Arcanum, or Exposed Occultism" ("Le Grand Arcane, ou l'Occultisme Dévoilé"), which was published only after his death by one of his students.

There is also a suggestion that in 1861 Eliphas Levi joined one of the Masonic Lodges in France, but, disappointed, left it.

Dying from dropsy on May 31, 1875, Levi left behind him many disciples who continued his labors.
