November 7, 1903, exactly 116 years ago, Arthur Edward Waite, Marcus Blackden and William Alexander Ayton signed the official constitution of Independent and Rectified Rite of the Golden Dawn. The internal order of this organization, which broke away from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, initially numbered 14 people, and in the first year of its existence it increased to 22 people. Most of them continued their activities in the order.

On November 9, 1828, exactly 191 years ago, Nicolas de Bonneville died. He was a friend and a student of Louis Claude de Saint-Martin and also a freemason.

Nicolas de Bonneville was initiated into Freemasonry in 1786 in England, he also wrote two books on Freemasonry, "Jesuits Expelled from Masonry", and "Dagger Shattered by the Masons", both in 1788.

Nicolas de Bonneville was also a prominent figure in the French Revolution, defended the interests of the poor, promoted the idea of equality and the universal redistribution of property and land. He was twice arrested for speaking out against the Jacobins. Before the events of the French Revolution, de Bonneville was engaged in literary activity, after - was a bouquiniste in Paris.

On November 10, 1885, exactly 134 years ago, Frederick Hockley, a British occultist, scryer and Freemason, member of Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, died.

Hockley collected and transcribed books on occultism. In 1853, Hockley established the spiritualist Croydon Circle. Hockley practiced crystallomancy, considering it one of the most important ways of communicating with spirits. He kept notes of his experiments. Hockley was a close friend of Kenneth R. H. Mackenzie, and also he had close contact with other British occultists of his time. Perhaps Hockley was a pupil of Francis Barrett, who wrote the book "The Magus" (1801).

It is believed that the vast library of Frederick Hockley made a significant contribution to the formation and curriculum of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Also, according to one of versions, the cipher manuscript, on the basis of which the Order of Golden Dawn was established, was written by Frederick Hockley.

November 15, 1886, exactly 133 years ago, René Jean-Marie-Joseph Guénon was born, who was martinist and member of Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim, and subsequently he was expelled by Dr. Papus (Gérard Encausse) from both of the organisations. He was expelled because he once told Dr. Papus that the archangel Michael had come to him and ordered Guenon to convert to Islam, as well as to convert to Islam all the Martinists and the members of Memphis-Misraim. It goes without saying that Dr. Papus did not tolerate this, and excluded Guenon from the Martinist Order. The works of Guenon, numerous, although had no direct influence on the Western occult tradition, they served as the foundation for the development of the ideas of traditionalism, Italian and Romanian fascism and German Nazism. The ideas of Guenon inspired Julius Evola, Mircea Eliade and some figures of Ahnenerbe, Thule Society, and the ideas of Guenon still influence the ideology of Eurasianism, neo-Nazism and other questionable and involutive teachings that influenced the history of the XX century, world wars and policies of some states.

November 17, 1907, exactly 112 years ago, Israel Regadie (A.M.A.G. - “Ad Majorem Adonai Gloriam”) was born - English occultist, member of the magical order “Stella Matutina” (a branch of the splitted Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn), author of books on the occult, who published the materials of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, psychoanalyst.

Israel Regardie was born in London on November 17, 1907 in a family of poor Jewish immigrants. In August 1921, his family moved to Washington (Columbia). Regardie was educated in Washington and Philadelphia schools. At first, he showed interest in the works of E.P. Blavatsky, then became interested in yoga and Hindu philosophy. Then he found a mentor, a Jew by descent, and from him learned to read Hebrew texts freely. Around 1925-1926, Regardie read one of A. Crowley’s books, wrote him a letter, and, during the correspondence, Crowley offered him a job as a secretary. Regardie agreed and moved to Paris. However, despite being close to Crowley, Regardie didn’t receive practically any lessons and instructions in the occult sciences from him.

In 1932, Regardie publishes “A Garden of Pomegranates” and “The Tree of Life”. In 1934, with the support of Dion Fortune, he joined “Stella Matutina”. Being admitted to the Inner Order, he left the organization, and in 1937 published most of the rituals and lectures he received in “Stella Matutina”, which originally belonged to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

Regardie also became interested in practical alchemy, and together with Frater Albertus of the “Paracelsus Research Society”, he conducted an alchemical experiment that was his last. Failure befell practitioners, and Regardie suffered a burn of the respiratory tract, from which he suffered all his life.

He died of a heart attack March 10, 1985 in Sedona (Arizona).

November 17, 1624, exactly 395 years ago, Jacob Böhme died - a German Christian mystic and philosopher. His parents were free Lutheran peasants, whom he helped feed livestock, he get education from school. When he grew up, began to travel as an apprentice, studying shoemaking. He was engaged in self-education, did not know Latin, but was very well read, gaining knowledge from German-language writings. He independently studied the Luther's Bible, the works of the alchemist Theophrastus Paracelsus, as well as works on natural philosophy, Kabbalah, religious mysticism. In spite of the fact that sometimes it is preferred to present him as an uneducated person, to whom once, without prerequisites, enlightenment came down while looking at a tin vase, this is not so. Jacob Böhme had a solid store of knowledge on which he built his further mystical conclusions, inspiration and insights.

Among the outstanding works of Jacob Boehme: "Die Morgenröte im Aufgang", "De tribus principiis", "Von dem Dreyfachen Leben des Menschen", "Vierzig Fragen von der Seelen", "Von der Geburt und der Bezeichnung aller Wesen" and many others . The writings of Jacob Böhme were highly appreciated by Louis Claude de Saint-Martin, he called this author his second teacher (the first was Martines de Pasqually).

Jacob Böhme died on November 17, 1624. His grave is located in a church cemetery in Goerlitz, Saxony.
