April 5, 1523, exactly 497 years ago, Blaise de Vigener was born - French diplomat, cryptographer, mathematician, alchemist. Vigener was born in the village of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule (Auvergne). During his trips to Rome with a diplomatic mission, he met with essays on cryptography. His authorship in the XIX century was mistakenly attributed to the “Vigenère cipher”, to invention of which he had no relation. However, in “Traicté des Chiffres”, he described encryption with automatic key selection — an invention that really belongs to him. It was in retirement that he was actively engaged in writing deep treatises and translations. Before retirement, at the age of 47, Vigener donated 1,000 livres (an amount equal to his annual income) to the poor of Paris. In particular, he wrote the following works: “Traicté de Cometes”, “Traicté des Chiffres ou Secrètes Manières d'Escrire” (1586), the alchemical work “Traicté du Feu et du Sel” (1608), translation of the psalms “Le psa de David torne en prose mesuree, ou vers libres. " In 1596, Vigener died of throat cancer.

April 6, 1861, exactly 159 years ago, Stanislas de Guaita was born. He came from a noble Italian family who moved to France. He descended from an ancient aristocratic family and possessed the title "Marquis". In 1880, de Guaita published two collections of poetry, “The Dark Muse” (1883) and “The Mystic Rose” (1885). In 1883, de Guaita received from Catulle Mendès, who became interested in him, the book "The Teaching and Ritual of High Magic" by Eliphas Levi. In 1884, de Guaita met in Paris with Joséphin Péladan, and after this meeting he decided to devote himself entirely to the occultism. Together they attempted to restore the Brotherhood of the Rose + Cross on the basis of lineage from "Toulouse Order of the Rosicrucians." After the death of Firmin Boissin, head of the Order, they converted the Order of Toulouse into the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose + Cross. The Order was accepted by Gérard Encausse (Papus). During the 1889-1891s, Papus organized the "Supreme Council of the Martinist Order", which includes Stanislas de Guaita, who became the author of some of the teaching materials of the Martinist Order. Stanislas de Guaita is the author of the famous Trilogy on the Occult Sciences “The Serpent of the Book of Genesis”.

On April 7, 1807, 213 years ago, Pierre Michel Eugène Vintras was born in Bayeux (Normandy), a French religious leader who claimed to be the incarnation of the prophet Elijah. He became a follower of the fraudster notary Ferdinand Geoffroi, who claimed that the adventurer Karl Wilhelm Naundorff is the legitimate French king Louis XVII.

Vintras claimed that the archangel Michael, the Virgin Mary and Joseph appeared to him, and ordered him to preach some new Gospel - “The Work of Mercy”. His teachings had followers, among whom was Joseph-Antoine Boullan. Vintras himself was imprisoned for five years for stealing money from two women. On October 8, 1843, Pope Gregory XVI condemned sect of Vintras. Vintras died in 1875.

At court Louise Anne de Bourbon was known as Mademoiselle de Charolais. She never married.

On April 10, 1902, exactly 118 years ago, Arthur Edward Waite was admitted to S.R.I.A. (Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia) in London on the recommendation of Palmer-Thomas and Westcott. Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia is a Masonic esoteric Christian order created by Robert Wentworth Little in 1865. According to Waite, the system of degrees of this organization was derived from the German Orden des Gold- und Rosenkreutz.

April 11, 1878, 142 years ago, Robert Wentworth Little died - the founder of S.R.I.A. (Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia) - Masonic esoteric Christian order. Born in 1840, Robert Wentworth Little acted as a clerk and cashier in the secretarial office of United Grand Lodge of England, and then became secretary of the Royal Institute for Girls. He was also the founder of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Misraim.

Among members of Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia founded by Robert Wentworth Little were founders of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn William Robert Woodman, Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, William Wynn Westcott and also Arthur Edward Waite who after split in the Order of the Golden Dawn сhristianized its rituals and headed The Fellowship of the Rosy Cross.

On March 13, 1760, exactly 260 a year ago, Nicolas de Bonneville was born. He was a friend and a student of Louis Claude de Saint-Martin and also a freemason.

Nicolas de Bonneville was initiated into Freemasonry in 1786 in England, he also wrote two books on Freemasonry, "Jesuits Expelled from Masonry", and "Dagger Shattered by the Masons", both in 1788.

Nicolas de Bonneville was also a prominent figure in the French Revolution, defended the interests of the poor, promoted the idea of equality and the universal redistribution of property and land. He was twice arrested for speaking out against the Jacobins. Before the events of the French Revolution, de Bonneville was engaged in literary activity, after - was a bouquiniste in Paris.

April 15, 1876, exactly 144 years ago, Arnoldo Krumm-Heller was born - German doctor, occultist, founder of Fraternitas Rosicruciana Antiqua (FRA). He was also an agent of German naval intelligence during the Mexican Revolution and the First World War. He is the author of 25 books on occult topics, novels, books on history, biographies, as well as many articles that he published in his magazin “Rosa Cruz”.

From the age of eighteen Krumm-Heller worked in Chile, Peru and Mexico, mainly as a scientist. There he began to study occult works, in particular, he familiarized himself with the works of Helena Blavatsky, Louis Claude de Saint-Martin, Papus and Eliphas Levi. During his life, Krumm-Heller joined several esoteric organizations. He also became the Bishop of the Gnostic Church. He was a Freemason of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, as well as the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Mizraím.

Arnoldo Krumm-Heller died on April 19, 1949 in Marburg (Germany) in April 1949 at the age of 73.
