We are creating for you a series of events called "Community Chats" at the Test Site Cafe! Community Chats are a series of events where anyone can organize and speak about any topic of their choice and create a discussion with other people. This is a safe space for conversations that invites reflection and engagement for a topic you care about, not a presentation nor a Ted Talk. The intention is that we want to offer the communal space for personal connection, trust, and hopefully acting together at the end.

The topic of the first Chat is no stranger to anyone: climate change. It may sound like an abstract term, a helpless disaster or a not-my-business kind of thing. But it’s real, and we all can feel it. The weather we endure, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat. Something has changed.
The longer-term effects are being accumulated, perhaps somewhere invisible to us. That’s the story that Bridget, an old Test Site friend, now spending her life in Malta, wants to share with us: how the unbearable heat affects her life physically and mentally, and how to take a good care of herself and others.
We open the discussion with Bridget’s story and let our ears open for yours. It’s not a presentation or such. A safe space to share your perspectives – that’s what we aim to create. Sometimes it just feels good to be able to talk and be listened to, right? 😸
