Currently, it seems not having any effect.

It is not fully clear what setting GEM as a default would mean in fact.

It could be that a prompt from this GEM will be used as a default prompt for new GEMs.

It could be that default GEM will be used for all new chats potentially as well.

The GEM editor will get new options to add a description to the GEM and potentially an option to share it (publicly or within the org?)

And the most important part - users will be able to upload their own files for GEMs to refer to (similar to ChatGPT).
