Currently, the X version only accepts images while a standalone version can also read *.txt files. In the sample, I uploaded a text file with json content.

The file upload feature is still hidden on both.

OpenAI is testing new app controls allowing you to specify how ChatGPT windows should behave.

NEW: Companion chats? 👀

Now you can clone any chat from the main app to open in a separate window! And it works with custom GPTs as well.

It seems that for now, you can only open one companion chat at the same time (so you can have 2 windows)

This is especially useful if you have a voice UI opened and you need to have a visual representation as well.

In the future, you may show your companion chat to the voice chat through the vision feature 😅
