Happy national day everyone! This week's message will be a little short as I felt that we should use this time to look at how far our nation has come and how God has blessed our nation for the past few decades! As I was teaching my classes during this week (in which the art class themes were all themed around national day) I had some time to look at how we have progressed as a nation , some including why we chose Vanda miss Joaquim as our national flower which is due to it's "resilience and year-round blooming quality"

I hope that we continue to pray for our country — that we would continue to have good and responsible leaders that put the people first and that our country would continue to live in harmony while sorting out issues civilly and lawfully!

Last Sunday’s sermon reminded us that Jesus is the epitome of love and compassion ❤️ — a love that stops for the lost and diverts attention to the lonely.

In Mark 5, we see this as He raised Jairus’ daughter and how He turned to the bleeding woman, offering both healing and dignity. 🩸🩸🩸-> 🕊️

So often, we forget that these are the dominant characteristics of God Himself. Yet how comforting it is to remember that our God has a deep desire to alleviate pain— and He acts on it. 🧑‍🍼

I pray that in moments of deep pain and anguish, His compassion will meet us where we are, and may we extend the same unto others. 🍃🍃

This year, we’re teaming up with a few Christian Youth Organizations and GoTeam to host an exciting laser tag game 🕹 and outreach right here at our very own Bartley void deck!

🤝 Youths between 13 to 20 will be participating and Bartley YA + GoTeam will be running the game and also sharing a testimony 🙌.

On 15 March after both services, members of participating DGs will be setting up booths for everyone to enjoy.✨ From all sorts of 👨‍🍳cuisine👩‍🍳 to hand-lettering 📨crafting and busking🎶, the void deck will be full of life!✨

Back by popular demand, the mental wellness verse packs📒 will also be available for purchase for yourself and your loved ones.

Dear YAs & DGLs,

I am so encouraged to see how you all came together to support and serve in last Sunday’s fundraiser for our upcoming YA Camp! Some of us felt unsure - of what we were putting up for sale, and also if our target of $8000 was too ideal, especially since we saw a drop in church attendance because of various reasons (March sch holidays, KJ closure, the Elders Board and key pastors being on retreat…).

Nonetheless, we all pressed on and gave our best at our booths, trusting that however much God would provide will be enough. I believe that because it felt like the "odds were stacked against us", that it became undeniable that however much we raise is truly by God's grace.

It is my great privilege to share that by God’s amazing provision through the generosity of His people at Bartley, we have crossed our target!

WE RAISED A TOTAL OF $8038.50! 🥳

I heard of some of you baking up a storm, cooking with each other, being resourceful and putting your heads together to figure out best pricing. Through this community endeavour, I hope that you got to experience the joy of playing your individual parts well, so as to be a blessing to the larger community that you are a part of. 🥰 This is a glimpse of what it looks like for us to Set Sail together, wherever God calls us. 🌊⛵️ And this is only possible because you learned to offer your time and talents to the Lord, amidst your school workload, packed work schedules, and for some - even through ill health. You did not let “busyness” become your excuse from loving one another through your serving. Thank you. I hope you got some good rest after!🙏🏻

In your own way, this week, will you:
1) Join me to thank God for His provisions through the fundraiser.
2) Ask the Lord to teach you what it means to continue to be available (“hineni” - Here I am) to Him and His people.
3) Seek God’s presence as you ask Him to prepare your heart for camp!
