I rarely post my grievances here, but I would REALLY APPRECIATE if visual novels didn't start with a 2 to 10 hour long prologue where MC "wakes up, gets to school and lives an ordinary life as a high school student UNTIL WHACKY SHIT HAPPENS".

99% of VNs go like that.
Also more VNs wouldn't have been dropped if this wasn't the case.
Thankfully, not all of them are Higurashi where this is like 80% of the text in an almost 300 hour vn.
